I'm sad and worried about this guy. For the third day he got scared on our walk and wanted to go home. We've been walking faithfully every morning since April, I've walked him on a busy street with huge work trucks rattling by, I've walked him very close by huge riding lawnmowers, none of it phased him. Tuesday, we were barely four minutes into the walk by our little local park, and someone was whistling, the kind of whistle to call a dog to come here. I couldn't see them, it was confusing, and Blu was looking all around. He made it clear he wanted to go home. So he walked without a sniff of anything all the way home. Yesterday he got scared only two minutes in, we were at a quiet corner, but about four cars came by. He started pulling me home, but I convinced him to turn around and we completed the walk. Although he didn't visibly relax until halfway in. Today, we only got to the end of our driveway pretty much and a car went by and there was a shrill whistling sound. It could have been a bird or the car, plus there were gardeners mowing and maybe the sound of leaf blowers at a neighbors house. He started pulling me up our walkway. I wanted to try going the other direction, we only got three houses up and he started trying to go home. So we did. I tried taking him out again a few minutes later, just out to the sidewalk, he sniffed the little tree planted there, then back up the walkway he went. He will be five in January, could he be having hearing issues???? Jake developed issues with sound at eleven, refusing to walk on a busy street. I'm trying to get him a vet appointment, waiting for a call back. I'll try every morning in the meantime though. He's fine in the backyard, no weird behaviors otherwise. Playing with his toys, chasing critters at night, lol!
