Eva was determined to find Matty and bring him home with the Faust’s. It was after the first of the year, and while she didn’t know every detail of the new custody agreement, she knew that Oliver got time with Matty. All she was concerned about was that that time starts now. This place was swarmed with people, surely she’d be able to retrieve Matty and drop him off with Oliver before anyone noticed? Granted, she didn’t tell Oliver her plan to grab his son, but she was sure he’d be grateful.
Her eyes scanned the crowd over and over again, looking for the little boy. Finally, she spotted him over with another man. Someone she could only assume was an O’Shea. What she didn’t see though, was Amelia. Perfect. Making her way over to the little boy, she called out to him, quickly getting his attention with a smile on her face. “Eva!” Matty called back as she squatted down on the floor to open her arms to him.
The five year old ran up and hugged her and she held him tightly. It had been too long since she’d seen the kid and god she missed him. “Matty, I missed you!” She spoke happily in his ear, letting him go after a few long moments. Not breaking her gaze away from him, she leaned close, whispering, “Should we go find your dad?” The smile that grew on the boy’s face was priceless Matty nodded excitedly and Eva grabbed his hand, stupidly hoping to get away without a trace.
