When I first met you, you were like this bright shining beacon that guided my way out of the emotionless sea I had been ferried off into all my life. Your presence guiding me to shore.... Yet, I soon grew to realise, you yourself were a lighthouse, your base built upon the water itself, it was close enough to the coast that a passerby might mistake you for being inland, but that didn't mean you weren’t affected by the sea’s all-encompassing chill, or eroded by the lapping tide all the same, and you were bound to it by the very way you were built up.
