I am trying to flee to the Pacific Northwest, especially Oregon, because I find it the most politically and culturally safe for me and wife (We're trans and nonbinary and very opposed to capitalism and the US government and culture) short of leaving the country. She is a PhD mathematics researcher and I have no degree but great work ethic. I am reaching out to anyone and everyone I find on tumblr who seems to live in the pacific north west to get any help, connections, etc possible. That and posting thisbin the hashtags. Real people connecting with real people.
My wife will not work for the academic institutions that support Israel/the military (they all do) and neither of us will work for oil, military, or other death industries. We are hoping to live as decentralized, simply, and co friendly as possible. We are not afraid of manual labor.
We were promised family land in NY and were gonna farm/homestead off grid but seems it's not going to happen because my wife's family is too dysfunctional/abusive to keep her sister from hurting and abusing us and won't actually transfer us the land as they claimed. My wife jeopordized her math career for this and cannot get a normal academic job even if she wanted to: its privy to the academic cycle. We would not normally need help, because we are careful frugal people who plan well, but we used alot of resources coming here (NY) and have just barely enough to maybe move if we do so in the next few months.
Co ops, resident owned housing, and other hippie anarchist stuff appreciated, but we're looking at a lot of options: firefighting or entry level forestry jobs with housing, squatting in the forest, thru hiking, trying to find work with non profits or ethical groups and live in a normal house/apartment, etc. We strictly adhere to our ethics but are fairly flexible otherwise.
If there is any way you can help us, I would be forever in your debt and it would mean a lot to know we aren't truly as abandoned and hated as we feel. The world's been really really scary and it's hard to keep hope in my heart. Please help us in any way you can. I tried to commit suicide last year because of how bleak everything has gotten and it's something I'm still struggling with. I need something to live for. I don't deserve this, I'm a really good person.

I’ve been seeing so much of romanticization of Oregon lately so this is my reminder
And guys I can’t emphasize this enough, but don’t move to Oregon, first of all it’s not the romanticized version you see online, it’s very trumpy, insanely expensive, and seasonal depression is really bad here, not only that but people moving from out of state is ruining our economy and causing the cost of living to skyrocket, making it so that people born and raised here can’t afford to live here anymore. Please Visit Oregon tho! Tourism is what keeps so much of our state afloat, especially on the coast, stay in hotels and inns not airbnbs and support local businesses, follow leave no trace when visiting nature, and make sure to listen to locals when they tell you things to check out, and things to avoid!
