Armin: a girl despite the masculine name, and the main protag! she's a footsoldier in the royal army and super loyal to her kingdom and her cause. good at taking orders but also really good at coming up with plans; she's a natural-born leader but doesn't realize it or really think of herself as much of one.

Ines: name pending??? princess of the kingdom!! sheltered but not as much as her parents think she is. huuuuugely empathetic, enough that it often manages to become a drawback by preventing her from functioning logically or at all, but determined to do right for her people as a ruler.

Garroway: one of the kingdom's highest-ranking nights as Ines's personal protector. he is intensely passionate about floral arranging and would totally dedicate his life to it if he wasn't staunchly determined to protect and take care of Ines. he's just kind of an intensely passionate and emotional man in general. dude's like nearly seven feet tall but he's a gentle giant and a big crybaby and everyone's dad/big brother (read: mostly Ines's and Armin's).

aaand less solidified characters without any kind of role in this vague plot-ish thing i have down who i would like to find a way to incorporate

Molly

What they smell like: like your grandmother and your attic and the back of your oldest drawers and storage cardboard boxes; dust and something vaguely old and home

How they sleep: i haven’t decided if Molly even does sleep or if she can just do that thing that Toy Story toys do at will and that’s it? if she sleeps she basically follows her human’s schedule and however she’s laid down is how she’s positioned—a made bed usually means being half-propped on her back against the pillow with her arms slightly out from her sides, otherwise she sort of ends up sprawled out or curled in wherever she’s thrown. 

What music they enjoy: soft, gentle instrumentals—like a step above those ~nature sounds~ they give you for meditating. 

How much time they spend getting ready every morning: she’s a rag doll she doesn’t need to get ready for things in the morning

Their favorite thing to collect: clothes!!! technically she’s not collecting them but she looooooves having lots of pretty pretty clothes made for her to wear

Left or right-handed: she’s ambidextrous i guess but doesn’t actually have fingers, sooo

Religion (if any): agnostic in a way where it’s like, she isn’t aware that organized religion is even an existing thing. in a way the humans around her are the closest things to “gods” to her because they are the creators; a human sewed her together and humans sew her clothes and these houses she’s been in are great grand things of their design

Favorite sport: she doesn’t sports. she’s a rag doll of course she doesn’t

Favorite touristy thing to do when traveling: she doesn’t really do much traveling? she hasn’t been outside like three houses. i can’t imagine her being able to do anything touristy when traveling i can only really picture her falling onto the ground and screaming about the size of the world

Favorite kind of weather: stormy and rainy and TERRIBLE. terrible enough to keep everyone inside so they can play with her!!! 8)

A weird/obscure fear they have: all of her major fears are only weird from an entirely human perspective and make plenty of sense as a doll! having the dog/cat tear her limbs off (again), being stuck in storage boxes and forgotten (again), ending up without any human at all to take care of her

The carnival/arcade game they always win without fail: she’s more like a carnival/arcade prize if anything!! she wouldn’t be good at any of them though; she has no dexterity because she has no fingers. if she did have fingers she’d be pretty good at whack-a-mole

What they smell like: smoke, always smoke, smoke and ash and campfires. mostly just the smoke lingering from a fire long since left alone

How they sleep: they tend to sleep very little for days and days and days and then pick a completely boring and unimportant day and just basically sleep through all of it. they sleep in really weird positions—half sitting-up, perpendicular to the line the bed goes in with their top half hanging off the bed, sitting down hugging their knees to their chest and their head down and their cloak just completely burying them. their default is usually lying down with their body and legs arched as though part of the perimeter of a circle and their arms kind of crossed over their chest and stomach with their hands held together just between their neck and chest.

What music they enjoy: they’re not particularly into music? they like church and temple songs but the ones in the back-middle/middle-back of the books that no one ever really sings that’re low and sort of eerie. they like low and slow and quiet songs that are sort of unconventional and maybe kind of off-kilter. they think those are soothing

How much time they spend getting ready every morning: tbh they’re just as likely to sleep fully-dressed, hat and all, in which case they wake up and they fix their hat and they’re like okay, done and go about their day. if they actually like, wear pajamas and go to bed properly though (so like, that one day of the week they decide to sleep), whenever they wake up (it is not always the morning) they are SUCH A DIVA. they take like at least a fucking half hour to get their clothes together—they’ve got like a million layers of cloaks and capes and scarves and sashes and unnecessary fabric and belts that they set up over their basic tunic/shirt/pants/skirt (at least they’re very good at deciding if it is a pants/skirt/tunic day very quickly instead of mulling it over for ages) and then they wear a lot of jewelry too (mostly in piercings). they make no effort to speed up for other people ever.

Their favorite thing to collect: they like jewelry that they can stick in their face piercings. mostly they like earrings and they keep getting more piercings to accommodate all of their pretty gemstones.

Left or right-handed: left, but almost entirely ambidextrous when it comes to spellcasting.

Religion: uuuuhhhh. agnosticish??? there is common folklore/reigion in their world about a pantheon of deities who spoilers are not actually deities at all; they were actual existing demons who had an important role in the construction of modern society, especially the local area, but weren’t actually gods or anything despite the fact that they’re constantly revered as such. fire mage thinks that those guys probably existed, is not sure if they were deities (does not specifically think they were demons though), is not sure if they are anymore, does not think they care very much at all

Favorite sport: lighting things on fire (doesn’t do sports or much physical stuff at all. there is a reason they do magic and not punching (the reason is because lighting stuff on fire is fucking great not because they’re bad at sports. the latter is caused by the former))

Favorite touristy thing to do when traveling: set the place on fire; leave to their next destination they like to find the most weird and spooky and maybe obscure historical sites and go sightseeing! big huge monuments aren’t as interesting to them but they love creepy abandoned castles and weird rock formations and old broken cities and sights of old wars that nobody cares about anymore.

Favorite kind of weather: cold cold weather; it gives them even more of an excuse to light things on fire. they really don’t like it when it’s warm because they wear heavy clothes already and add fire to that and even though they have a high heat tolerance, they don’t want to overheat

A weird/obscure fear they have: they’d NEVER tell you but they’re very afraid of getting lost. like, not with any kind of deep metaphorical meaning or anything. despite their love for obscure and creepy and out-of-the way things, they’re afraid of the idea of not knowing where they are and not knowing how to get back

The carnival/arcade game they always win without fail: the duck pond game. nobody knows how they manage to get that lucky all the time but they do and they always manage to get baller prizes on the duck pond game.
