      it felt a little bit wrong –– knowing he was using her .  she didn’t seem to mind much ,  however .  the few times they’d met up had been some of the quickest  meetings  he’d ever had  &  it felt more wrong than it did right .  she was a distraction  &  he’d admit it .  a beautiful distraction ,  nonetheless .  it was easy with her  ––  no questions asked  &  nothing to explain .  he’d found himself buttoning up his shirt before turning towards a mirror in her room ,  as if there was anything he could do to his hair to make what just happened not seem obvious .       ❛   damn lettie .   ❜    he practically growled out ,  aggravation settling in when he realized that he should really just get the words  i just had sex  tattooed on his forehead  &  it would be just as revealing .       ❛   you like my hair that much ?   ❜    

she wouldn’t be able to repeat the series of events that unfolded .  her memory is nothing but a big blur .  just like her vision currently was behind tear filled eyes as she stumbled her way back home .  there’s a hesitation as she approaches the front door ,  not sure whether or not to actually go in or find sanctum at a friends or just take herself to a hospital  &  deal with it later .  disregarding the heavy pit in her stomach she fumbles with her keys before eventually finding the lock  &  shoving her way through the door ,  not bothering to close it behind her .  ben  --  she wanted ben  &  ben only .  she trusted him .  he was her saving grace every other time she came home all beaten up  &  would clean her up no questions asked .  but alas ,  her plan to find her brother had crumbled as she got to the staircase as quickly  &  quietly as she could but apparently not fast enough before spotting her mother staring at her from the living room .  shit .  a sleeved arm reaches up to wipe a mix of blood  &  tears away from her cheek before speaking up .   ‘ mom ...  i didn’t think you would be home . ’   maybe a hotel or something .   |   @ethercals

nira closed her office door and settled behind her desk, shooting sam a tight smile. she didn’t know how she was supposed to act in this situation. all she knew is that if sam needed her then she would do everything in her power to help, “so, what’s the situation? i get the gist... but specifics. i need to know as much as i can.” she paused, it felt too professional, stilted almost. she struggled to meet the other’s eyes, preoccupied by the feelings she still had for her. it was nearly impossible to shake. finally, though, nira let out a breath, looking up at sam, “you look... good, by the way. it’s nice to see you.” still too formal, but she didn’t want to cross a line- an unspoken one, but a line nonetheless. 

it’s the first time she’s been home since her argument with lisa .  two days since she’s even left moira’s apartment ,  even calling in sick to work on the tiniest chance that she would see lisa even though she knew for a fact their shifts didn’t line up that day .  her only reasoning for going home being the fact she needed clothes  &  probably shouldn’t continue to live in whatever moira wanted to throw at her .  her backpack is filled with the necessities  &  enough clothes to last her a few days until she decides to come back for more .  as she reached the bottom of the staircase ,  attention is drawn to the woman sitting in the living room ,  deciding now is probably a better time than ever to come clean about everything that happened .   ‘ hey . ’   her backpack is dropped on the floor next to the couch ,  plopping herself down next to the older woman .   ‘ so ,  uh  --  lisa  &  i broke up . ’   better to just rip the bandaid off than beat around the bush on the subject .   ‘ guess i won’t be needing the apartment anymore . ’   |   @ethercals

audrey handed gen a martini, a slight grin on her face, before taking a sip of her own and leaning back against her kitchen counter. her husband was back in d.c. and her kids were... god knows where, so, of course, what a better way to spend her evening than drinking martinis with the other woman and talking (gossiping) about everything happening in ashcroft, “i know i should probably feel guilty about taking a break, but i’d say that we deserve a break more than anyone else around here.” she chuckled, joking, “it’s not easy being the hottest mom in ashcroft- thank god there’s someone to share the burden with me.” she lifted her glass in a playful salute.
