the view from the window of a time machine
Well... how long has it been now since I set foot on New York? Time has passed so fast that I did not even realize it has already been One and a Half years. A lot of things have happened. People change as their life change. I have certainly changed for the better. I have become a little wiser I would say. But I never had the chance to document anything that has happened in the past One and a Half years and this is partially due to the workload of Parsons. So I have to start somewhere now, even though I am already one and a half years late.
I can't complain because I have chosen this path. Coming from a totally zero background and trying to create a breakthrough in fashion is hell difficult. Sometimes, you just get so frustrated or you just get programmed to do things. After completing something, you just feel like thrashing it because it just ain't good enough. Fashion has become a love/hate relationship for me but I still really enjoy doing it. I am still trying to find that breakthrough.
To be truly honest with anyone who reads this, fashion is not as glamorous as what you see in the movies or on TV. You have to be in it to understand. Everyone wants to do fashion, but can you really handle it? You don't just become famous overnight - this is a misconception. You need to have that IQ and EQ. You need to work really hard to even be noticed. You also need a lot of money to survive and it takes time to reap what you sow. Not everyone has that kind of money to begin with.
Whatever it is, I am just thankful for the opportunity to be here and thankful for everything that has happened for the past one and a half years... the opportunities of having visited London, Paris, Milan and many other cities, making new friends and learning how to make satisfying meals to keep me happy. The whole experience is just humbling and I have learned to pick my battles wisely. Hence, I just want to start this blog to document my experience, share w/ people things that I like and most importantly, keeping it real.
