Her laugh is the first thing about her that caught his attention and that he couldn’t stop thinking about from the moment he heard it and laid eyes on it, so it was this picture of her that he was immediately drawn to. It wasn’t bc she was in the pool in a swimsuit, it’s bc it perfectly captured the beauty of that laugh and her carefree spirit.

For their first Christmas as a family, Luz couldn’t wait to take pictures of Aréya to include in their Christmas cards. Ethan surprised her by getting Aréya an adorable Christmassy dress to wear for the pictures. It meant a lot to her since he never much cared for the holiday, but that’s shifted now knowing it’s his wife’s fave holiday.

On a shopping trip Luz came across a Care Bear pillow that immediately reminded her of Sonny (who got his nickname from his name and sunny disposition). She just had to get it for her little boy.

When Lélo took an interest in playing piano as a little kid, Ethan surprised him with his very own. It’s the one on which he mastered his craft and treasured forever. (Grownup Lélo and that piano ↓ <3)

During college, when Luz wasn’t trying to splurge on a trip, she and her friends would go to Myrtle Beach. On her final year she was missing her family, so she spent it in Palm Springs where she’d be closer to her fam. It was also nostalgic bc it was where she’d spring break during high school. Luz is always down for a party, so the environment would be pretty wild.

In med school, she rarely had time to go out on trips anymore, but she’d take a week off during spring break to vacation with her friends in Miami and Cancun.

Luz did go to her prom w her bf at the time and had a blast. Her fave color is turquoise, so it was love at first sight when she came across this dress (which she still owns).

(looking up 2010 prom dresses was both hilarious and nostalgic. Can’t believe we thought that was peak fashion at one point 😆)

Ethan had no desire to attend his senior prom, but then his friend Kate asked him if he’d be her date. He didn’t accept right away, and it was Alan who ultimately convinced him not to skip out on a memorable night. Kate was a good friend, so he couldn’t say no to her.

Luz’s favorite holiday is Christmas so winter all the way! She loves visiting New York around that time with Ethan and going to Rockefeller center to view the tree and go ice skating.

Luz would def have to explain to Ethan what it meant since he’d have no idea, haha. Then he’d be uncomfortable by the question, so he wouldn’t answer it in front of everyone. Luz would sense his discomfort and out of respect wouldn’t answer it either.

They didn’t watch it at all, they couldn’t care less about football 😆 If it’s an artist she likes, Luz would only watch the halftime show on yt or something.

What kind of dates did they have? Was he romantic? (Like flowers, kisses or generally thoughtful gestures)

Do you think that, even if he didn't believe in love and marriage, he entered relationships with a "formally dating" mentality? Or did he let them know he wasn't looking for anything too serious from the beginning?

I don’t hc Ethan as a serial dater. Luz is his first love and most serious relationship he’s ever been in. Before her, like when he was in college, he had a few partners whom he did romantic things for, like taking them out on dates. However, he was unwilling to put in any other effort into the relationship, like being emotionally open. This was the main reason those relationships were often short-lived; they were always more into him than he was into them. His studious and workaholic habits didn’t help matters either.

As he got older and realized he wasn’t seeking a committed relationship he’d let them know right away to avoid any future miscommunication. He preferred fwb relationships with people he trusted who weren’t looking for anything serious either, like with Harper.
