fill up and tether yourself to me let me drag you through my hours of indignation, through the stream of the unfiltered conscience of my world here we’ll spare no arrogance and you can hold back the waterworks until countless below have despised your presence and forgotten the essence. take the violence that accompanies you and haunt me with it; you have fooled me enough- my empty chest that wishes to float with you, sings in pink dreams, in the feet of blue skies like she could extend her hand a little further, and swallow you // like there is hope in your pouring and i am in need of getting clean. as you drape my shivering shoulders with pleasantries often taken for granted I dream of eating your wings, watching the sun play hide and seek. soon you’ll replace my mornings and evenings with afternoons and nights you’ll take with you my memories, leaving me-remembering-yet again. like these photographs that have been fading, much like me // much like you- we will look at each other and always wonder what it feels to be // what it means to be the other. watch me grind under your cloak while you smuggle daggers across the azure alight with empathy and a hunger for adventure, ever the hopeful one. sometimes i ponder if your sense of wonder will wash off on me— if i could, i would rid you of your innocence. and for once, there will be no looking up- we will both be suffering // and still. a collaboration between eternalhate and tremblingwarsong.
