I loooove the colors and shading on a lot of your stuff. I use photoshop but can never seem to achieve a similar effect when painting with it. Things never seem to blend properly or smoothly enough for me. :( I haven't used SAI before, would you say it's easier to paint with?
For some people it is? But not really for me so much. I like SAI more for cell shading, because you can get really crisp, sharp lines on it. Very clean. And the pressure sensitivity (if you have your brushes sorted out properly) is top notch.
As for blending in photoshop, these fellas are your best friends:
Not necessarily those exact percentages, but playing with the opacity and the flow of your brushes, alongside frequent color sampling and resampling (ctrl+a! super fast and easy, it becomes as second nature as crtl+z) with the eyedropper tool of the colors that your two colors overlapping become, makes for some smooth/painterly blending (after a good deal of strokes, mind you).
And colors? Honestly, I’m still getting the hang of using interesting colors. Setting layers to multiply is a good way to cheat your way into colors popping more while you’re still getting the hand of neat color schemes (at least it was for me anyways).
Sorry for the wordwall.

EDIT: ALSO THANKS FOR THE COMPLIMENTS ON MY WORK ashdjkhljkl i don't mean to be rude I'm just tired.
