Oh I desperately need to know more about Splitfangs 👀
I don't have much art for them at the moment so I'll use Esznat for my examples. I'll eventually get around to doing an extensive infographic on all the new Vivere species, but I can for sure give you a short rundown on Splitfangs!
Here's a very basic anatomy chart I whipped up. Splitfangs are sophonts hailing from Sohea, a planet dominated by jungles. As a result, they've evolved to live in canopies. I had snakes, geckoes, and monkeys in mind while designing them. Their hands, tail 'hands', and feet all have setae - microscopic hairs which allow them to cling to any material. This, combined with their flexibility, means they can navigate the treetops with perfect ease.
Those forelimbs attached to their head allow them to sense movement from behind (such as larger predators), pick up/manipulate objects, and make gestures. The eight hands on their tail are less dexterous but can carry a lot of items at once.
Splitfangs are carnivorous and consume prey much larger than what would be expected, considering their small size. They are excellent hunters. The antennae on their snouts help them detect potential prey, and the top fangs inject powerful venom (not as potent as a Sea Crawler's, however). Their lower mandibles can move independently of each other and expand, giving the impression of the jaw dislocating.
