i live in Korea and I have to cover up my tattoos to work here. Gwangju where hobi is from is definitely the most chill (my friend who worked there has full sleeves and they didn’t care at all- his friends had similar experiences). Ive had many conversations about it (asked a Korean coworker just yesterday if it really matters to parents and she said definitely yes). Its def a “personal preference but not professional” vibe, but SO MANY young people here have tattoos (visible and big!!) so…
It makes me really emotional to see people feel accepted that way. and i'm sorry you have to go through this. i have a friend who has several tattoos but her parents dont even know she has all these tattoos even though they all live together. she really does everything for them they never knew about her tattoos. they really hate tattoos.
