“Lisa’s Wedding”, ep. 19(122) of S6 (March 19, 1995).

“You know, I always felt you were best thing my name ever got attached to. You’re my greatest accomplishment and you did it all yourself.”

There is a lot going on in this episode, one of the very best of acclaimed “classic Simpsons”. I decided to put focus on key scene – conversation between about to walk down the aisle Lisa and her father, which feels like summation of entire family arc and recurring theme of Homer bonding with his most (evidently) bright offspring. This is also where Lisa decides to stick to her, not the most functional, yet supportive and well-meaning family.

I think it’s the crucial (and often overlooked) episode for both Homer and Lisa's character development, even in regard of dubious “canonicity” of it.

And the notion of predetermined future, even despite awareness of it ending in failure?
