I see thats interesting, I can understand your reasons tho. it are some heavy labels after all. I just have been thinking about his perfectionism and control in psychological way, commonly such severe case of perfection, often has the main root of it being Fear, but also the incapablility of acceptance, even creating a form of safety. yet, such drive for perfection creates an other source of fear which is failure. etc, I can only imagine how much extra impact that has on him, mentally
It genuinely baffles me a little that fandom so often characterizes him as the relentless sadistic sociopath who isn’t afraid of anything and just revels in evil. Because honestly, if I were to characterize Kristoph’s motivations in one word, it would be Fear. He’s afraid of mockery and failure--hence his caution and perfectionism. He’s afraid of himself and his emotions so he practices self-control and tries to force his composure. He’s afraid of others and of being caught, hence his paranoia.
In reference to the other question, Zak’s murder has always read to me as a crime of passion, especially when you compare it to Drew Misham’s. Both are well not the smartest way of committing murder but if anything, Drew’s was over-planned and a not very good plan at that--whereas Zak’s was sloppy, impulsive, and more “physical.” And given how important appearances are to Kristoph, he doesn’t seem like the type that would favor unnecessary psychical violence especially if it might get his pretty nails dirty.
All of which suggests that Zak’s death was not pre-mediated (or if it was, only very briefly) and was the result in Kristoph lashing out in Fear, Paranoia, and/or Anger instead.
It’s also interesting to me that given that it takes *seven* years for his plan for Drew Misham to work and yet Kristoph just...sits for seven years and twiddles his thumbs. If he could afford to drop a ridiculous amount of money on a forgery and smart enough to think up an elaborate murder plan, you would think that he would actually like...follow up to make sure it actually worked? And that when it didn’t, he would alter his plans to make sure the problem went away? And yet he doesn’t. Which to me suggests that his heart may not have been in it fully after all. Either he intentionally kept himself in the dark about Misham’s status because he didn’t want to have to think about what he did. Or he’s actually somewhat glad his plan failed (for now), as he didn’t really want to be a killer after all--even if he’d convinced himself before that it was “necessary.”
Ziz hugged one of her larger pillows, and she went through each event of the last few days. Finding that there were far too many life-threatening encounters for her liking. The fact that she managed to make it to Undershrine in one piece was a miracle; pairing that with everything else that happened and now the looming threat that the dark fae could find her again broke the dam she’d placed on her emotions.
Once her tears started flowing, she couldn't seem to stop them, and she wasn't sure if she wanted to. Had she cried before this, yes, a few times in fact, but none of those tears gave her the release she felt now. Like a tight band around her Soul was steadily loosening.
Sometimes the best thing for you is a good cry, and Ziz really needed one.
There was a light knock at the door "ziz?" Seishin called in softly worry in his tone. The door cracked open just a smidge and he peeked in cautiously glancing around the room warily "sorry if i'm wrong but i saw your soul kinda reacting ta stress. are ya ok?"

Meanwhile back in the main half Tamashii brought up a important question to Tony "By the by is this magic a once off and once we break it will we no longer be able to assume these forms or does it work always so long as we're wearing the opals?"

Most new books have that gorgeous "new book smell"...
My new law textbooks don't. They smell of blood, sweat, tears and fear.
