Louis had a little ribbon he wore that he obtained from his time wandering before he became oakclan leader

At some point he saw how oakpaw's wounds were really irritating him. So he gave him his ribbon and wrapped it like a little bandage to try and help

Oakpaw probably had it on when he was turned and took it off to see if his fur was any better. But then. Louis was being murdered and it was left behind for him to find again 200 years later.

Legs was originally a kittypet who escaped to join a clan in the capital when he was young. He spent most of his life being good dutiful warrior (solider.) to impress them and prove his worth as a fighter despite his kittypet origins

The final straw was him putting rat poison in their enemies’ fresh kill pile to try for a final win. It works and his superiors are impressed by the ‘bloodless victory’ but he’s horrified at how they all died and flees the town to find others to help so he can atone for his sins, becoming a medicine cat instead. YAAAAYY <33
