I love my life. Yes, simply put, I do worry about what lies ahead, and yes, I carry too much weight from what lies behind, but I love my life. I laugh often, I have the most exhilarating loved ones, and I am allowed to be healthy, to be intelligent, to grow on all accounts, to make my mark on the world each day, to observe (and exude) beauty, to let music pulse through my veins, to love others with my eager heart. There is so much creativity, color, strength, adventure and magnitude in my life. I know there are those of us who cannot get out of bed, who hate their lives. Even still, many of us that would be deemed "normal" or "emotionally stable" have Dark Days when all seems like Cold Oblivion. I have had those days; even one of them seems too many. It has taken a small journey for me to be able to look inside and see an image of my smile more often than my tears, to hear my laughter more often than my sobs. I am swept up in gratitude to have arrived to this more dimensional place. Every moment that I can close my eyes and see my authentic self - the one with a smile, a laugh, and strength of heart - is an epoch. Every.single.time. My heart and thoughts are with those that struggle to grasp gratitude often, particularly at a time like now, when discourse about being thankful is everywhere (it should be all year 'round). Sometimes, no matter how hard they try, they cannot escape the darkness and find the light. Admonishments to "be thankful" and "count your blessings" from all corners can bring on stronger feelings of guilt and inadequacy, since they know what it is they are supposed to feel. They just....don't. I just want to say, there is light. It exists. I'm not saying it will shine when you want it to. I'm not saying you'll never find yourself in the shroud of darkness again. I am saying that there is light. FOR YOU. It will wait for you. It will be yours. No one will steal it from you. You will be grateful. ❤❤
