So... esc season is over again. As happy as I am for Bulgaria, the feel of the contest has been 'off' for several years now. The voting used to be exciting, now it's just stressful... It's difficult to focus on who we want to win when we're all focused on who shouldn't win. We were 'saved' once again, but how long will the EBU allow this to happen? They just keep disappointing everyone again and again. Like I saw someone else write, post-esc depression is becoming more like post-esc relief.
Anyway, I want to keep focusing on what got me into esc in the first place: the diversity of music genres, languages, cultures coming together. Even if it's becoming harder to focus on that...
So yeah, trying to be positive - congrats to Dara! Finally a win for Bulgaria, can't wait how/where they will host (hopefully Poli Genova will make an appearance?)! And now, it's time to go back in time to 1994 again - such a diverse and lovely year, I already got a few more entries almost ready to post.
So around 0.024% of the total adult Norwegian population has, in the last 15 hours, sent in official complaints to the governmental broadcasting council about our silent compliancy when it comes to Israel's participation in ESC. Each one of those complaints have to be read and logged by a person, by law. That's actually pretty great.
