Marry My Husband 4
a new friend introduced me to kdramas with this show and OH MY GOD i am gooped and gagged!!!!! when that Misa was bleeding on the ground and that orange rolled into view i was like ???????????????? and then !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! a trope I never new i loved was time travel ones (they have to be done very well, and is also the reason I'm obsessed with gnosia and will be watching tonight as well)
this show is crazyyyyyy kdramas are so dramatic wtf, i see why they have a huge following in the west, bc it's all so theatrical. but also very serious!! the drama is deep and catty and ridiculous but also the characters be going through real things, like this is basically a story about a girl who realizes that her lack of self esteem has been attracting people who hate her, and she is in charge of breaking that cycle by standing up for herself and being selfish for a change.
honestly the show is very triggering but eye opening to me. i have a friend who acts jussssttttt like Misa, and their partner acts similarly to misa's bf as well. this show reminds me that people act all kinds of ways for a lot of diff reasons, and it's easy to just look at someone and say "wtf?" when they've been conditioned to keep the peace their entire lives, at their own expense. it's a difficult place to be, on the inside and outside. i don't blame my friend for dating a toxic person, but the behaviors they've been taught to excuse in other people are negatively affecting their life. it's hard watching from the sidelines and not knowing what to say. i think imma send them this show.
on a lighter note (?????) i want to take a fly swatter across esakas face. and i can't wait for misa to end up with her real husband, daddy suzuki.
That one KOF '98 stage at Esaka Station.
