Lebitamet: A term for those who are indigenous to Russia and are transgender/non-binary and do not fully or partially identify with the gender norms of the so-called "West.' The term originates from the Yukaghir phrase "Лэбиэ тадаат мэт' which translates into English as "the world and me.' It applies to all indigenous peoples of Russia, from Nganasans and Vepsians to Buryats and Kereks.
The term is categorically opposed to violence and discrimination. It cannot be used for purposes of violence or as an excuse. The term is categorically against radqueers. *
