#erwin ff

You both were going out on the Shiganshina mission tomorrow and you both didn't have even a little bit of time left to spend with each other.

One thing that you realized after all these years of being on the survey team is that you never know which day is your last outside these walls so you always make it a priority to spend time with the ones that are close to you before you head out or before they head out. And this right here was you man so doing the paperwork was the last thing that either of you wanted to do. 

Erwin and you have been going out for quite some time now and with the way he tasks risks, you're always worried if he'll come back or not. You were so happy when you found out that you were selected for this mission because you knew that this is a huge one and he'll be reckless for sure. At least you'll be there to help him out as much as you.

You locked the door behind you and walked over to him and kissed him softly as you sat on his lap. You both knew that this is the best you can do right now given the work that is still left to do. "You should get some rest." You said half whispering as you lay your head on his chest.

He sighed deeply and wrapped his arms around you in his warm embrace. You can tell he's been working for a long time now. "This is good enough for me for now," he said hugging your closer and leaning back in his chair. You both stayed for some time like that. For him just your presence can charge him up.

"Do you think it'll go as planned?" you asked playing with the button of his shirt. You knew what the answer was but still wanted to see what he'll say. "Does it ever?" he said with closed eyes. Having you close to him is good enough for him.

To his luck, you were his subordinate so you saw him around quite often. You both stayed like this and talked the entire night as he finished his work then head out to your rooms. It was important to take a rest as well. It was a big day tomorrow.

You could have never been more proud of him, but this speech that he gave to scouts before leaving brought chills to you and filled you with such motivation for the mission along with love and respect for him. At times you wish you can show him off to others as your man too but this would quite literally mean exile to the both of you.

This happy feeling turned to dread just as quickly when the thought of him out on the frontlines came to your mind. It must have really shown on your face because Levi came and said, "Oi, We all will come back." he looked over to Erwin and back at you, "All of us." This man has been so supportive of you since the day he accidentally walked in on the two of you hugging in Erwin's room.

The mission was going fine but then tragedy hit. So many of the scouts died. You were badly injured as well but you found shelter in one church. You planned to wrap up the wounds and go back to help others but because of the loss of blood, you fainted.

Meanwhile, everyone thought you to be dead. So did Erwin. He then declared to lead the suicide mission that will be the key to making this mission a success. He did that and it WAS a success.

As you woke up you could hear Levi and Mikasa. It was hard to recognize where it was coming from because of the weak consciousness. But you figured soon that they were on the top of the building. You got back your strength and went outside.

As you reached on top you could see Mikasa was on top of Levi about to slay her blade, and that is when you stopped her. You knew you were too weak to stop her in this condition.

You saw Erwin in a really bad state. Your whole body stopped then and there. You felt so weak but Levi's voice arguing with Mikasa brought you back.

On the other side, there was a completely burnt body. Soon you understood what was going on and who that body was.

Levi was looking over to you again and again so that you'll side with him on giving the syringe to Erwin.

"Give it to Armin," you said after being silent for what felt like an eternity. Even though this was not what even a cell in your body wanted to do but it was either your feelings or the future of humanity.

"Have you lost it? Get a grip on the fucking reality it is Erwin you're talking about." Levi shouted at you. You gave him the "trust me" look. He was not so convinced but he stood back.

You asked him to take care of Armin, give him the syringe, and get all the other things done and he hesitated but obliged with a "You better know what the fuck you're doing"

You went over to Erwin. The only and biggest problem was that he had lost a lot of blood. You shouted if anyone had the blood type that goes with his and apparently Hange did. You always carried your equipment with you in the missions. Sadly they always came in handy and this time to your biggest fear, you were using them on your love.

You did the transplant but were not sure how he is going to react to it. Or if he'll even make it. You were by his side the entire time making sure that whenever he woke up you tried to keep him that way but failed most of the time.

Nonetheless, he made it back and got healthy and left scouts for good. He has been planning to do it way earlier but wanted to make sure that he gives his best. You on the other hand stayed because you had excellent medical skills and you could help the scouts when they are out and about.

After a few months, you two made it official that you were dating but never told anyone that this has been going on for longer than this.

Post-retirement Erwin was a delight with all his attention on you and whenever you two went to bed he WAS THERE not buried in paperwork or doing something else. He was right there for YOU all the time.
