So I have four theories to where Aelin and Maeve are going to end up. 

The first is that Maeve is going to Morath. That she will trade Aelin for freedom, ability to live in peace, some sort of white flag so that Errowan won’t kill her or her husband won’t kill her when Errowan opens the wyrd-gate again. Now, the fault in this theory is that Maeve wants to be as far away from Errowan as possible. She does not want to rule over the world by the side of a man, she wants to be in charge. 

My second theory which also could happen but has some flaws is that Maeve is taking Aelin to Mala’s temple to retrieve the third wyrd-key. The problems with this one are that Maeve does not want to be anywhere near fire because of what she is. As well as the fact that I believe that that particular wyrd key had already been taken.

My third theory is that Maeve is going to take Aelin back to Wendlyn as a means of protection. That she will get into Aelin’s head and make it seem like she was always meant to protect her aunt and her aunt’s people. This one, however, is purely rooted in speculation and guessing.

*ToD Spoilers* So I was having this conversation with my friend, and I came up with this theory. Elide is part Valg. Crazy I know. But stay with me. 

Let’s start from the beginning with her mother. Elide’s mom is Lady Marion. All we know about her definitively is that she worked in the washroom and she was best friends with Evalin Ashryver. Evalin was a princess of Wendlyn. But before Evalin went to Terrasen she lived at Mistwyrd. Now, what if Evalin met Marion at Mistwyrd. What if Marion figured out that Maeve was the Queen of the Valg but only because she too had similar powers as Maeve. We don’t know if the Three Valg Kings before the first two were banished from the realm didn’t have offspring. So what if they did. And what if some of that magic tickled down to Marion. Now, Evalin wouldn’t of left Mistwyrd, she had friends and a home and a cause she was petitioning. It seemed strange when Emris said Evalin left. But what if the reason she left was to protect Marion, her friend. What if Marion saw what Maeve is, told Evalin and then the two left. (plus the whole Marion was a maid is probably an easy trick of the mind. One that Maeve did, but to a bigger extent)

Now, you know how Maeve said Aelin’s parents always had a way of sensing when Maeve’s eyes were looking for her? Well here’s the thing, Aelin’s father Rhoe had no magic. And her mother only had water magic. Nothing that can really tell them when to hide Aelin. But what if Marion could. She was Aelin’s nursemaid, and she was also Evalin’s right-hand person. So what if she was put into that position to both alert Evalin about Maeve and also protect Aelin. 

You might be thinking, WHAT?! But think about it. When Evalin and Rhoe and Aelin left the palace, they brought no one with them except Marion. Strange right. Especially when they thought it was Maeve coming after Aelin. They really should have brought other magic wielders. But they just brought Marion. And when Aelin woke up between her parents and when that valg came, Marion stood her ground. Yes, she was loyal and would have done it no matter what. And yes Marion did die. But also, maybe the reason she couldn’t win in the fight was that her magic was depleted. 

Fast forward to Elide. We’re told Elide has witch blood in her. We still can’t figure it out. But we do know that Vernin and Errowan wanted her. She is valuable to them. Why? We don’t know. BUT if she has valg in her, if she has royal valg blood in her and if she is a female with royal valg blood. Then she has more of a claim to the valg throne then Maeve does. Because Maeve only is Queen because she married into the royal family. Now, what if Elide was meant to have children with Errowan. They would probably be powerful enough to take down Maeve. They would be full valg maybe. They would have a claim to the throne. It sort of makes sense. It also makes sense on why Marion’ s power was so depleted. She wasn’t only protecting Aelin, but also Elide from Maeve’s eye.

Here’s the thing. Fae males are drawn to power. Maeve is powerful. Aelin is too. They both have had the Cadre drawn to them. But then why would Lorcan be drawn to Elide. Elide who is a mortal. BECAUSE SHE ISN’T JUST A MORTAL. SHE IS POWERFUL. SHE IS VALG. SHE IS DARKNESS. The same darkness that drew Lorcan to Maeve. But this time, maybe more powerful. 

So all in all, I think Elide doesn’t have witch blood in her. I think she has valg. Or some bit of valg. Maybe she is valg. 

Power doesn't mean survival. We are all scared of Aelin being implanted with a Valg. And a lot of people have taken comfort in the hopes that because Aelin is powerful, she will survive. But I like to put forth Dorian. He is arguably as powerful if not maybe even stronger than Aelin. He has raw magic, it can be wielded in any way shape or form. And yet when he had the collar, and the valg was inside of him, he had no control. 

So maybe power doesn’t equate safety.

Perhaps, inner strength does. I mean just look at Kaltain. The King. Roland. They each had the valg in them. And each, in varying degrees, was able to fight the valg. The King kept his family and (very misguided and very problematic) the kingdom ‘safe’. Roland was able to go to the witches and ask to be killed. He seemed to have enough control to talk as himself. And Kaltain totally decimated that valg. 

Each in some way had an inner strength. A mission to safe guide other people or themselves. And while Dorian did show himself in glimpses.He never had the control that the others seemed to wield. 

And Kaltain, Roland, and the King were never even close to how powerful Dorian and Aelin are. 

ACOTAR version  

Aelin/Celaena - NEVER. DO NOT. Like actually, don’t even look her in the eye. Not unless you want to be burned alive, or beat or skewered by a sword. She will kill you. I’m serious. You will die.

Nehemia - I guess you could go at her. But beware that she has some mean psychological warfare up her sleeve, plus she knows a demon language and how to wield a stick. That hurts. A lot.

Lysandra - Ha Ha Ha. If you thought going after Nehemia was a good idea think again. This bitch can shape shift. Like actually SHAPE SHIFT. And her favorite form, is a snow leopard. A form she has disemboweled demons in.

Rowan - Bad idea. Abort mission. He will kill you. Maybe with his magic. Maybe with a sword. Maybe with his Fae swiftness. Or maybe even a table or chair. Either way, you will end up dead.

Chaol - He would probably be the easiest to fight. But keep in mind he was the captain of the guard. And survived a battle with the demon possessed king of Adarlan.

Dorian - He has raw magic. Need I say more?

Aedion - Cool, go ahead. Get pummeled to your death by General Aedion Ashryver of the Bane who has studied almost every way of fighting.

Manon - She may be beautiful, but she is deadly. Both with her blade, her teeth, her nails and her wyvern. Besides Aelin or her grandmother I don’t think anyone has lived to tell the tale.

Elide - Um I guess. But your an asshole to go after someone who has a limp. As well as an idiot because if she doesn’t kill you, you can bet your ass Manon, Aelin, Aedion and Lorcan will.

Arobynn - PLEASE DO. He deserves any form of pain. But he also may kill you in the process. (Another name for him is Arobynn Hamel, king of the Assassins)

Maeve - KILL THE BITCH. But she might kill you first. Beware.

Errowan - HE NEEDS TO BE DEAD. Just be prepared to die.
