Mmmmmm, I’m not sure how to answer this, because is it really the same? I don’t want to say that I don’t ship it because I ship all megop practically on principle, but because you explicitly set the data slug!Orion is IDW verse and to keep to the meme format, let’s go with don’t ship it, sorry u.u

IDW megop may just be my favorite kind of megop, if only because is the one I talk about the most, and I do like cop Optimus, I like how he’s a messy character with a messy history, that makes terrible choices and has anger issues. Both Optimus and Megatron are characters that make me extremely uncomfortable, but that’s also why I love them, and I love the way they reflect each other even when they aren’t even on the same storyline. And I still feel there’s so so much untapped potential in straight IDW megop in fandom.
Had he been a data slug, he would have turned out to be a different character, with a different relationship with Megatron, and I just don’t know how his story would have played out.
What would have made you like it?Â
I mean, if I actually had a setting and backstory to go on, I’m pretty sure I would ship it, lmao. I do love megop.

An Optimus that is a data slug is genuinely an interesting concept that Hasbro should explore. It makes sense with the archivist backstory and like, an Orion that had a frame completely unsuitable for battle would be pretty funny. Also, your design is absolutely lovely!!!!!! Is like, a really nice mix of OP and Rewind’s designs.
