The difference in the way Fraulein Kost and Ernst Ludwig sing 'tomorrow belongs to me' represents the different ways they view nazism
(I wish all nazis a slow painful death, this is me exploring the characters' beliefs not my own. I think it's obvious but I needed to make it VERY obvious yk)
From the intro of the song. "I do not find this party amusing" vs "bah! We will make it amusing!". His views are strict, he will not engage in anything supporting what he apposes. She sees it as almost a game. She will make it amusing, it isn't life and death for her and the people who disagree are unimportant.
She sings a lot of it as if it's a regular cheerful song, she likes this song. She likes singing it. The message suits her, why wouldn't she like it? She likes being a nazi. Hitler is making the world better for her, why would she be upset?
He sings it powerfully, he's singing with talent, not fun. He is singing the word of Hitler, he is declaring his beliefs. This is his announcement, and people should listen to him.
The difference is especially shown on the word "mine". She screams, he bellows. She demands, he declares. It should be hers. It will be his.
The world should be hers, she deserves it. She practically screeches it, it's like a child throwing a tantrum, it's different to how she sings the rest of the song. The world should fit her as best as it can, she's the perfect type of person.
The world will be his, he'll take it. He sings it as he does everything else, with force and authority. This part is simply louder, almost more desperate. It's not the same as hers, it's more like a person in power demanding more of it (which is exactly what he's doing). The world will fit him, he'll make sure he's the only type of person it fits.
The kind of nazi that supports hitler because of how he declared he would help her, and didn't care about the people sacrificed for her cause, vs the kind of nazi that supports hitler because he supported all of his ideals, and agreed that people needed to die to make the world better.

"You know I actually really liked Fraulein what's-her-face until she turned out to be a [Nazi]. Ernst was sketchy from the start but I really didn't expect her."
Das Bildnis des Dorian Gray (The Picture of Dorian Gray) is a 1917 German silent film directed by Richard Oswald based on the Oscar Wilde novel of the same name. It stars Bernd Aldor, Ernst Pittschau, and Ernst Ludwig, among others.
for some reason, on English and Portuguese Wikipedia, Ernst Ludwig's name redirects to the Wikipedia page of the last Grand Duke of Hesse instead of the (German) Wiki page of the actual actor. I mean, why bother checking when you can just contribute a movie role to Ernie? can you imagine him running back and forth between the front and the filming locations?
anyways, enjoy my edit of Grand Duke Ernst Ludwig as Basil Hallward.
here's the original version of that photo of Anastasia that had been edited/enhanced and was slightly distorted! hope this quality is better! she's chatting with Uncle Ernie @loiladadiani
