it's interesting to draw Hong Lu as one of the butterflies as well. mourning what won't ever be mourned and knowing she won't be mourned or whatever. some composition stuff about this is bothering me but i don't care, i put effort and time into this and i'm happy with how the butterflies turned out.
also, i forget what it's called (sheer fabric maybe) but the skirt that Virtuosa's other costume has is fun to draw on Erin. i love semi-transparent fabric

Shipper thoughts: I’d like to imagine Erin being so loyal to Hong Lu because he feels indebted to her in some way. My thought process was like… guy that hate himself, thinks he’s so evil only a saint with endless patience could love him (projecting) and then a saint appears‼️ It feels too good to be true so he violently tries to reject her but Hong Lu continues to accept everything without hesitation. It just reminds Erin like “I hate myself and I hate that you don’t hate me” (projection again.)
