Well, it's not midnight in California, but I missed my time zone. This is the dress I made in a handful of days for the Black History Month challenge. #bhmpatterndesigners I made view A of the Erin Dress by Eryn Shields of @stylesewme - it is a wearable first draft. I cut the back armholes a large instead of a small, and then after recutting the sleeves would not set in logically. I have set in a lot of sleeves, so the problem was in my cutting rather than technique. I didn't think I would like this sleeve length but I think I am OK with them. The neck opening looks like a funnel in the pattern images, and so I really tried to not stretch the neck out when applying the bias binding. In the end, I should have used my sewing mannequin to shape it more like my own shoulder slope. I also might do an adjustment for my bust... I have small shoulders and 32DDD curvy grrrlz, which makes fitting shoulder/armhole/bust a challenge. Verdict: I like it, if I wear it with a scarf at the neck. I definitely like the dark/solid fabric panels at the sides to accentuate the princess seams on this roomy silhouette. I will want to tweak the pattern on my mannequin next time. Maybe I would make it without sleeves and cut large armholes for wearing a knit top underneath? #erindress #erindressviewa #BHMPatternDesigners @onesewsweet @sewnaturaldane #sewistsofinstagram #ankarafabric @stylesewme @stylesewmepatterns https://www.instagram.com/p/B9LvR9LJpNi/?igshid=hcxwjf9l20fe
