more seriously, you could see Brauner as the Dracula to Eric's Leon, I guess? As in, they both suffered deep loss, but Eric kept his heart while Brauner lost his humanity. That's always juicy
Alugrant
gives Grant some love
there is a certain appeal in pairing up the least human, most supernatural member of the Curse gang with the most human and normal. Grant is also a cool dude who might be put off by Alucard's princeliness only at first, before seeing that he grieves as much as he does. And Alucard would see in Grant the kind of person his mother wanted to help.
I think Grant could make Alucard laugh :)
