i think what makes being an artist hard (other than the actual work) isnt what the media or paparazzi does or says. i mean, they’re annoying & disrespectful at times of course but to me it’s what the fans constantly do & say regarding them. fans are honestly ridiculous these days. between chasing them down for a picture, tweeting hate to the people they love & saying they’re “problematic” when they’ve really done nothing differently from what the same fans would do themselves, i really don’t blame them for not talking to fans more or wanting to take pictures more often. who would want to when you get online and see all of this mess surrounding your personal life from the ones who claim to love you the most? it’s really sad. then these same fans feel so entitled that they get mad when they don’t receive a picture because they feel like it’s owed to the when it isnt. anything outside of music & performing is something they do because they genuinely want to. its more of a privilege than a right. i dont know, just thinking about this sort of stuff makes me sad. one day these artists won’t be as accessible & we’ll wish we treated them differently when they were.
