Song of the Day: Redman- Tonight’s Da Night
“Tonight’s Da Night” was the third single off Redman’s debut album Whut?Thee Album. The single released on May 4th, 1993 is a great mix of rough and rugged rhymes and a smooth yet shadowy instrumental. Produced by Eric Sermon and Redman himself, the track’s a classic slice of early 90′s east coast hip-hop and one I had on repeat today. The majority of the songs on Whut? Thee Album are hype in tempo and style so when the record comes on it gives the project a needed change of pace. “Tonight’s Da Night” finds Redman menacing, humorous and skillful three traits that made him a force to be reckoned with in the early to mid 90′s.
