5% of the Dream - (by Eric Britt)
In the spring of 2016, I had a dream where I heard four measures of music. This was the initial basis of the composition. During the writing process it underwent a transformation as I livened up the motif in with a variety of compositional techniques.
Score & Parts
Last night I wrote a short composition over the course of 40 minutes, inspired by a Haydn piano sonata as well as drawing from my own past work. It has to have been the best God-given strike of inspiration I’ve ever experienced.Â
I’m still trying to wrap my head around what exactly fueled my compositional mind to write something like this in under an hour. By my own compositional work pace, something like this is astonishing.
Hey guys! This is my new piece, Metropolis. In the composition I aim to emulate a 1960s vision of a bustling city of tomorrow. Having been written a month after the completion of my Underspace soundtrack, it sounds different than all the music written during that period of time. The result is wonderful.
Side note: You really get that futuristic metropolis vibe around 0:35.Â

Here’s a sketch from the soundtrack I’m writing for @courtofashesgame. Anyone with a knowledge of soundtracks can tell this was written in the 21st century. It has that modern film score sound.
