You know I've read a whole bunch of fics where Bilbo brings Frodo to Erebor and all the dwarves they meet are like "OMG A CHILD, SPOIL HIM ROTTEN" and any elves they meet being roughly the same (what with both having such difficulty with childbearing or whatever), but I'd love to read a fic where Hobbits have so many children it's not feasible to have a birthday party for every one of them--so they have one big birthDAY every year, with ALL the Hobbit children. Like a fair or whatever.Β
Only Bilbo thinks to invite the elves of Rivendell and the Dwarves of Erebor, and somehow Thranduil gets ahold of an invitation in Mirkwood, and they show up expecting some Hobbit-y festival and are bombarded by thousands of tiny Hobbit children.
A bit like going on a business trip only to find out the 'business' is to party in a gymnasium full of puppies and kittens and more food than you know what to deal with.
(Because Hobbits and their many meals will never not be funny)
