@erebones replied to your post “i kinda feel like a sped-up time montage is sorely needed…the cast...”
I get this for sure, but also when you spend 3 weeks with people nonstop that's a lot of time in each other's company ya know
you know what, yeah that’s fair. i just spent almost two weeks with my sister on a trip and i feel like i went through a year’s worth of character development lmao

They've mentioned that at the beginning of campaign one they were just given a "you've been adventuring together for a while" for the people who were there right at the start, so there wasn't really a comparable process. I agree they should speed it up, though. They keep saying "oh it's only been about a month" but the right month can change your life completely.
oh did campaign one really start like that?? that’s interesting, i had no idea. that definitely wouldn’t have worked w campaign 2 and it makes me appreciate the slow pace more haha. your last point is v v true, this has been really the most buckwild month for them!

New Neighbors
“Baze!” Jyn called into the house. “The new neighbor is here!”
Baze let out a long breath and laid his head back in his office chair. Heblinked at the student papers in front of him and finally set his pen down ontop of them. There would be more time for correcting the papers later. He slidhis glasses off and set them down as well before he stood up, walking out ofhis office.
Jyn was standing in the entry way, hand on her hip and trying to keep up herimage as a brooding teenager. Beyond her was a handsome man about Baze’s ownage, standing quietly with a smile, both hands on a cane in front of him. Theman’s head lifted and his head turned slightly before his smile spread on hisface. “Ah, hello! You must be Baze!”
“Uh, yeah,” Baze said as he finally moved up to the entry way, pausing thenthe new man stuck his hand out. Baze took the hand and shook it. “I guess Jyntold you, huh?”
“Yes, she shouted it across the house,” the man said with a laugh. “I washoping I was right! It would have been embarrassing if I had gotten it wrong. I’mChirrut, it’s nice to meet you.”
“Yeah, you too,” Baze said, his hand staying in the hand shake longer thanwas strictly necessary.
“I’m going to go find Pocky,” Jyn said before she moved away and movedinside.
“Pocky?” Chirrut asked, tilting his head.
“Our cat.”
“Ah.”
Baze shifted uncomfortable in the new silence that fell, the two menstanding on either side of the door frame. The silence lasted less than aminute, but it felt like it had been going on for an eternity. “So… you’re thenew neighbor, huh?”
“Yes,” Chirrut said with a warm smile, nodding. “I just moved in lastweekend.”
“Ah,” Baze said and swallowed. “It’s… do you live alone?”
“Yes,” Chirrut said with a nod and a small sigh. “Yes, I do now. My son isin college. I did not like being in my old place without him, so I decided itwas time to move.”
“Oh.” Baze fell silent again, and then let out a breath. “Is there anythingyou need? A cup of sugar or something?” Why else would Chirrut be there, standing there and putting up with Baze’s awkwardness, if it wasn’t because heneeded something?
“Oh no,” Chirrut said, and his smile spread impossibly over his face again, gums appearing as he grinned. “I came over because the neighbor on the otherside of me said that you were really hot so I should meet you. She’s a verylovely woman, and definitely not wrong.”
Baze’s face warmed instantly at Chirrut’s words, and he cleared his throat. “That…that um… I don’t…”
“It’s alright,” Chirrut said brightly and he turned on his heel, sweepinghis cane over the small steps to Baze’s door. “I will let you be now, I canunderstand that my presence is distracting.”
“Wait,” Baze said quickly, and he did not know why. He did know that thevice around his chest loosened when Chirrut stopped working. He did not evenrealize his chest had gone tight until it was over. “You’re… you’re new to theneighborhood, maybe I could show you around? Take you to some great restaurants…”
Chirrut made a half turn, Baze figured for Baze’s benefit more than Chirrut’s.Chirrut was smiling again, the grin softened into a smile. “I would enjoy thatvery much. When would you like to go?”
“Tomorrow night?” Baze asked, heart hammering in his chest again.
“I’d love that. Pick me up at seven,” Chirrut said brightly and then turnedagain, walking down the steps and turning in the direction of his house.
Baze let out a breath and he rested his head against the doorframe. “You arenot good at that,” Jyn said from behind him.
“Shut up,” Baze muttered and pushed himself from the doorframe. He closedthe door and turned to go up to his room. He had a date to prepare for.

Comet, Venus, mars (I think I remembered them correctly...)
Comet: What’s your big dream? I am a published author, successful enough that I can subsist comfortably off royalties and write for a living. I share a colourful character home in Vancouver (specifically the Kitsilano area) with my significant other and at least two cats (one for each of us). There are succulents everywhere.
Venus: What’s your first language? English! It’s also my only language, sadly, because I am boring.
Mars: What’s your sexuality? Bi and grey-ace!
send me space questions!
7. “I’ve never killed anyone before.” for Bodhi and Cassian :))
He breathes, in and then out, his eyes flicker in front of him, although he doesn’t really see anything. His hands tremble in his lap and he swallows, tries to push down the wave of nausea that rises within him.
Cassian kneels on the ground, eyes staring straight ahead of him, his face impassive even in the face of death. So calm, so accepting. Why?
He wants to scream, screech until his vocal cords burn and he can no longer hear the man’s choked off grunt and the way his body hits the ground.
Cassian says nothing even as the imperial officer pulls on his hair and aims his head back. More words are said but Bodhi can’t hear. Why can’t he hear? Why doesn’t Cassian do anything?
He sits and stares ahead of him, at the open abyss that spreads across the outside of his ship. It’d been peaceful once, to be surrounded by space and nothing else, peaceful and beautiful.
Now all he can see in the darkness is the way the bullet pierces the man’s clothing and rips through him like paper.
His fingers shake but Bodhi persists. He won’t let Cassian die. He won’t fail him. He won’t fail anyone. Not ever again.
Bodhi doesn’t realize Cassian is sitting in front of him, until the other man places a soft hand on his shoulder. He jumps, breaths coming out in a short gasp and fingers curling around something. He doesn’t know what. Doesn’t want to know what. He glances up.
Cassian looks at him with such concern that Bodhi has to turn away. The silence stays, just as oppressive as it had been ten seconds ago. Bodhi breathes.
He shoots and Cassian runs.
“I’ve never killed anyone before,” the words are heavy on his tongue, dripped in cement and left to dry on his lips. Cassian says nothing, merely moving slowly closer, his body relaxed and his hands visible the entire time. He touches Bodhi’s hands, holds them in his palms like there’s something fragile in his hands and Bodhi wants to scream. He wants to scream at him, to rip his vocal cords in two, to drown out Cassian’s concern and the choked scream of the imperial officer.
But he says nothing, lips closed even as his soul weeps.
There’s blood everywhere. It stains the man’s white jacket, spreading like a disease across his front. Bodhi can’t help but stare at it in horrified fascination, even as Cassian grabs his hand and pulls him away. All he sees is red and the man’s terrified face.
Cassian pulls him in for a hug, careful and soft like he’s worried Bodhi will fall apart at the seams. And maybe he’s right-Bodhi can barely feel anything beyond the slow thumping of his heart, can’t hear beyond their breathing and the sound of blaster fire. He breathes in, but all he can smell is blood and sweat. His arms stay at his sides.
‘I’m sorry,’ he thinks, unsure of who he’s addressing it to-the man?, Cassian?, himself? He doesn’t know. But it doesn’t stop him from thinking it anyway. ‘I’m sorry.’
“Come on Bodhi!” Cassian hisses, pulling at Bodhi’s unresponsive frame. It takes three tugs to get him moving, to restart his brain and make him turn away from the dead body.
“You saved me,” Cassian whispers on the crook of Bodhi neck, his voice rough in ways that light a fire within Bodhi’s veins, “you saved me. Again. Without you, I wouldn’t be alive.” He breathes the words onto Bodhi’s neck and Bodhi can’t help the little shiver that tingles along his spine. His breath hitches, the lump in his throat growing as he tries to fight off tears.
Cassian kneels on the floor, his face unreadable, but his eyes…His eyes flicker to Bodhi’s and a fire runs loose.
“I’m sorry,” they say, sorrow and anger swirling in their depths, “I’m sorry.”
Bodhi raises his blaster and-
His arms rise and wrap around Cassian, becoming progressively tighter. He wraps himself around Cassian, rests his head against the other man’s and he lets out a shuddered gasp.
“You saved me,” Cassian repeats and Bodhi finally lets himself cry.
ok so i've never seen black snow sadly, but i know that quanzi is a smol gay, so maybe some quanzi/cheng do (or other young donnie of your choice)
idk if this is what you were expecting but I just,,,needed someone to look after my son Quanzi,,,, *handwaves away how the fuck cheng do is in the 1980s*
For the first time he could remember, Quanzi was…happy. Hehad a shitty apartment and still had a shitty job (the fact he had both, nomatter how bad, helped a little), but now he had Cheng Do. Cheng Do who wasloud and brash and a bit of an asshole, everything that drew him to men, butalso kind and soft in a way Quanzi had never experienced before.
He didn’t mind so much coming home when he knew that ChengDo would either be waiting for him, or he’d be able to hear Cheng Do’s come in throughthe door. Sometimes, he’s bring Quanzi little presents, books mostly, and they’dsit and read them together, sounding out the characters and laughing at eachother, but only because they wanted to, not because their relationship wasbuilt on spite and cruelty like so many other things in his life had been.
It wasn’t the most glamourous life but it was his, and forsomeone who’d spent so long searching for a tether to tie him to the world, itwas perfect.
