Walking down the hall, she could have swore she heard someone walking after her. Of course, there were people in front of her laughing and talking but they were too far for her to hear every single noise. When she turned around she realised nobody was following her. ‘ It must have been Peeves.’ she thought out loud as she continued walking ; she didn’t knew where she was going - but she was going somewhere.
Holding the daily prophet close to her chest, she finally let tears fall down her cheeks now that she lost the happy group that used to walk in front of her. She just found out that her little brother was almost killed, gasping for air - she stopped walking when she heard that noise again. Quickly she wiped her tears before turning around and facing the person.
“ Can I help you? Cause’ it must be a certain reason of why you are following me, right? “ her voice was silent, even if she didn’t intended it to be silent. She was this close to burst out crying, awful thoughts about how she could have saved her brother from being trapped in St Mungo’s Hospital if she would have been there. But with all that, she was showing no emotions, narrowing an eyebrow at the person who followed her ; just hoping that her eyes aren’t puffy red.

Stupid, stupid stupid. Why had she thought it would go alright if she tried to talk to Severus? Lily should have known from the lot he hung around with that he wouldn't want to talk. The real surprise was when his friends wouldn't even let her see him.
It was probably for the better as she didn't have a plan for what to say when she saw him, only that she wanted to see her ex-best friend. Ex. Heart twinging at the thought, she turned the hallways to knock into someone vaguely familiar.
Books and papers scattered across the hall. Ink wells shattered glass shards on the cold tile and ink seeping into the pages of both of their books. Lily was on her feet in a moment, picking up the books and papers first.

Writing Sample:
It was funny, really, that Dumbledore would let the likes of mudbloods and blood-traitors stay at Hogwarts for Christmas, but not the likes of people like Severus Snape. Probably thought he'd sneak into the Potions classroom and brew something that would blow the whole school up.
Not hardly. The dark-haired boy of sixteen had much worse things to worry about, to plan, to do. He barely even had time for ridiculous classes anymore as it was, gathering information from here and there and giving it to The Dark Lord as though he was some form of an owl. In spite of his constantly-nagging conscience telling him that merely giving Voldemort information was wrong and that in doing so he was setting those he'd gotten information from to be murdered.
But a part of him wanted to believe that it wasn't the same, not at all, that he, Severus, wasn't the one going out into the night and mercilessly using the Killing Curse on people. However, the other, more sane part told him that his involvement in the whole string of things was basically the same thing as though he the one doing the acts of torture and murder.
The young man in the black cloak sat in the cold iron bench at the park where he and that mudblood Evans first met, making sticks and twigs on the snowy ground enflame with his wand, a barely noticeable glint in his black eyes. There was not a chance in hell that he was going to go back to that little house at the end of Spinner's End. He'd plotted the various ways he'd get rid of his arse of a father, be it murder or just driving him out of the house.
Severus Snape sighed and pushed the rather morbid thoughts away along with a lock dirty, shoulder-length black hair. Above his head he heard a chirping noise, like that of a bird. Rolling his dark eyes in annoyance at the noisy animal he nonchalantly threw a round of Incendio at the tree above him to drown out the bird's racket. Standing quickly from the bench, Severus made his way as briskly as possible in the snow to the playground's exit and down the narrow road to avoid attracting attention to the now-blazing tree with a with a dead bird in the middle.
