I canât remember if it was ever brought up but is there Two Wavers in the FoC timeline? Chaldeaâs and the Native Waver of that timeline, like Shiki and Emiya?
It was stated in Equilibrium that the Lord El-Melloi II of FoCâs timeline is dead.

hi! love the story and new site! really happy to see the story is thriving so well and i hope you keep writing! quick quiestions gabby and gudao are mages but aren't bad people but what about their parents? and is there a reason the clock tower has been passive since equilibrium? are you trying to paint them in a better light? just curious sorry if I assumed things!
Glad youâre enjoying the ride!
As for your questions, no, Iâm definitely not trying to paint the Mageâs Association in a good light, because thatâs not what they are. In fact, a solid reason for the existence of Supplement IV Equilibrium is to ensure theyâre dealt with accordingly.
For those who may get the wrong idea at times, one must remember that the mages weâre often shown in Fate are usually far more relate-able than the true mages that inhabit the world. I merely continue the trend with Gabrielle and Gudaoâs parents (specifically Gabbyâs father and Gudaoâs mother, who are the mages).Â
As made obvious by Gudao and Gabrielleâs âcarefree demeanorâ in regards to magecraft, they werenât raised to the same mentality. So itâs safe to assume that though the parents wanted them to become great mages, they let them decide their own path as opposed to forcefully molding them into a family model. If it did happen, it would have been more apparent with Gabrielle since her lineage is similar to Waverâs: Stretches back a decent bit, but is far from a named, old house.
So that brings us to the questionable mages, who fill the ranks of most of the Clock Tower. As I touched on briefly, Equilibrium was purposefully designed to deal with the problems they present. Theyâre arrogant, morally bankrupt by normal human standards, and will do much if it means even the slightest chance of a miraculous advancement or prestige. Considering Chaldea is supposed to be a subbranch owned by a former lord that now holds a lot of âimmensely powerful familiars controlled by weak mages?â Yea, that might actually make them throw away their infighting to unite and try and grab what they can.
In order to prevent constant underhanded tactics and attacks, I made sure the Clock Tower got a taste of what it needed to âkeep them in line,â so to speak. Whatâs a quick way to get it through their heads what these âpowerful familiarsâ can do? Have a far weaker shadow servant run rampant through the halls to the point it was only stopped by two Magicians. Could it have been stopped by fewer? Sure, but word of mouth is powerful, and more often than not, the many will be terrified it took two Magicians to stop a weaker servant. And Chaldea has over a hundred.
So itâs that fear, concern, and begrudging acknowledgement of power that mostly keeps them in check. Itâs like bothering Aoko, Zelretch, the Barthomeloi head, or the mysterious Clock Tower Director himself. If you want the best chance to remain safe and advance your lineage, you avoid unnecessary and insurmountable trouble, and poking bears is a surefire way to get your ass handed to you.
What else keeps them in check? The Vigil are keeping an eye on them, but they never considered the Untied Nations much of a threat. Their four servants acts as a fair deterrence, but not like Chaldeaâs army. However, as referenced a few times, the Clock Tower was also sent into chaos and disorder. That still ongoing power struggle and realignment is also keeping them busy.
Just reread equilibrium and noticed that Nightingale was chasing after Beowulf for glass cuts. This was due to the fact that Angra spilled ketchup on him on purpose. Given we now know what sets Nightingale off, a prank like that shouldnât have worked, right? I donât think she acted like that on purpose...
Even if the entire scenario was a very fleeting glimpse that left much to the imagination (including what triggered her resolve), you have a fair point. It could be a bit more specific to make it more viable. Iâve shifted the wording a bit to make it more viable. From:âGale, no! Bad Gale! Itâs not blood! Calm down!â a blurry Beowulf yelled as he zipped past. The swimsuit-clad Nightingale wasnât too far behind as Dantesâ laughter echoed through the air. Beowulf growled as he ran. âItâs just ketchup! Ketchup! You saw Angra spill it on me!â To:Â âGale, no! Bad Gale! Itâs not blood! Calm down!â a blurry Beowulf yelled as he zipped past. The swimsuit-clad Nightingale wasnât too far behind as Dantesâ laughter echoed through the air. Beowulf growled as he ran. âItâs just ketchup! Ketchup! Do you really think Angraâs stupid broken plate was going to cut me!?â
Hello! Big fan of FOC! I got a question I hope makes sense. Are there any plans for the Servants regarding the wider world? Any plans to move out of Chaldea or make their contribution known? Liz wants to become an world-renowned idol, Shakespeare and Hans probably want to showcase their latest works beyond Antarctica, Kiyohime wants to try online dating, etc. All of which would be difficult to keep under the radar and for some, probably significantly take more than a few weeks to do.
Glad you enjoyed it!Â
As evidenced by Equilibrium and several fragments in Season 4, there is zero chance anyone is allowed to just move out of Chaldea. The âVacation Fragmentâ style is the most thatâs going to be explored as shown by Shikiâs being the first. The others and their worldwide aspirations can be explored in various ways, but moving out and outright unhindered interaction with the world at large goes against the interests of several organizations (including Chaldeaâs council).Â
As to how they âacceptâ those terms in also currently unexplored, though, but you wonât see any servants moving out.
If I recall correctly some Demon Pillars stopped their assault speak with the Servants if given the opportunity would you ever want to write out what they might of discussed?
It was never really gone over into detail at that part in the canon story either, so itâll likely just be left at that. It would mostly likely be bargaining for survival or an attempts to understand the opposition now that they had individuality. Which, as stated as well, was not taken too kindly by the more loyal pillars, so discussions probably devolved into slugfests for survival.Â

Hello, Love your work, by the way. FOC is a fun story to read and reread. I have a question. Has the Vigil group arrived in Chaldea yet? I thought they did at the end of Equilibrium, but so far, there appears to be no mention of Salter, Bazett, Kairi, or Sergei.
Thanks for following along!
As stated in the Epilogue of Equilibrium, the Vanguard Platoon will only be arriving when the Port is finally complete and their small section of Chaldea is prepared. As of Marieâs fragment, itâs still shown to be under construction to Vigil specifications, but itâs well on its way to completion. There will definitely be a show of them arriving when the time finally comes.
Ok i just read supplement IV and i just have one burning question.........SINCE WHEN CAN TARASQUE SPEAK FLUID ENGLISH?!
Considering itâs a member of a phantasmal species, who are far above and beyond what the vast majority of humans are capable of, understanding language should be an easy task. Whether or not they want to would likely be up to them.
Plus it actually happened in the summer 2016 event. Thatâs where the basis came from.
This is Scene VIIIâs unofficial soundtrack, which is a bit special in its own way.Â
Each of the supplements had their own theme, but this one is Fragments of Chaldeaâs theme as a whole.Â
Itâs got that nice calming yet inspirational blend, and I thought itâd be extra special with the scrolling scrapbook-style images. I felt it captures the revised ending of Fate/Grand Order Part I really well.
FGO for almsot all images obviously, except the one photo of the fanfic OCs. I made that one with all the illustrations Grape graciously provided.Â
You wonât find that song anywhere except the official licensing website. Itâs a song Iâve had licensed since my film days.
You can have the background if you want a 4k wallpaper though! (or just the image)
