2025 years in review for riding!
I am most pleased with the increase in canter since that was a focus this summer to try and get Luna in good shape for jumping shows.
Overall it was a good riding year! Luna was sound all year which is the biggest and best thing. We did more trails and learned to trail ride out by ourselves. We tried first level in dressage and went to two shows. Jumpers started well and ended well with a major slump in the middle. We tried to move up to .75s and crashed and burned and then just kind of both lost our confidence and had refusals left and right and just couldn’t get it together. But we persevered and had a lovely show to end out the season in October.
Looking forward to next year we really want to focus on impulsion and being forward and getting her moving more off my leg and more responsive. I think I may make horses a bit dull, so it’ll be the focus of the year. Luna has also been on a weight loss journey with her grazing muzzle and not getting her grain snack after rides, but she is losing weight and is getting close to where she ought to be
Luna has been a joy ride and the bestest first pony and I am so excited for the next year with her 💜
