January 7th
I hopped on today, for the first time in who knows how long. I didn’t bother with the saddle or anything, just hopped on bareback. I just did a 10 minute ride, some walking pole work and some verbal stopping and turning cues. She did fairly well considering she’s not had someone on her back for over 3 weeks. She did have a pretty spook right after I got on (I stayed on but barely). I’m gonna start doing 10-20 minute bareback rides a day. I hate my saddle so I don’t think I’m gonna bother with it for a while. But she needs to be worked, and I need work on my balance anyway.Â
If I move in February I’ll not have an indoor arena for a while, so I might as well take advantage of the one I have while I can. I want to keep it as interesting as I can, so if anyone has some pole exercises they’d like to share I’d be grateful (only walking exercises though I won’t be trotting for a while).Â

I'm sticking to dressage. Jumping today made me realize how much I really do prefer it over everything else.
Mum just ordered tickets for the freestyle dressage finals at the Paralympic Games in September
