ELECTED!!!: Today, by a unanimous vote in Harrisburg, I’ve been officially elected in as a board member of Equality Pennsylvania, the commonwealth’s leading political advocacy organization committed to advancing equality & opportunity for LGBT Pennsylvanians. I’m the youngest member of the board and currently the only black. I will be representing Philadelphia and helping to raise our pride & voices to the capitol. During my inaugural 2-year term, I will be focusing directly on ways that the state can address our growing LGBT youth homeless problem while also helping to rally the community on advocacy efforts post marriage equality. What I also plan to bring to the board is a growing push for intersectionality at the forefront of our new movement.  LGBT of color are growing and emerging state and nationwide with an even desirable sense to invoke effective change in this movement. My inclusion on this board sends a message loud and clear to the rest -- that diversity is not an option, but essential to the survival of LGBT advocacy worldwide. Thank you very much to the board and allies who nominated me and rallied for my support. Pennsylvania, I’m reporting for duty!
