ok so this is my brain dumping my silly deltarune au

dont know if its very original, dont care, its just for fun bc i rlly like the idea of it :) (ive had others compare it to deltafell which i guess i can agree with aesthetic wise lol)

think of it as like a personality 180 au?

gonna try to explain the main differences to the story/world and go character by character (at least the ones i have ideas for so far) and explain lol

if i keep up with it for as long as deltarune releases chapters, then its probably very likely to get entire revisions and have lots of parts scrapped and reworked as new chapters come out so ! yeah

OVERWORLD:

It's basically exactly the same, the only characters I really changed the personalities of are the students who have been in the darkworld so far (noelle, berdly, kris, and susie)... i dont rlly plan to change any towns ppl (maybe they just have contrasting aesthetics and personalities than their canon counterparts idk)

DARKWORLD:

ok this is where it gets. REALLY different

(really quick concept of what the main area would look like, mainly just a color difference)

each fountain we encounter is not a product of the knights or its followers interference: each darkworld has always had a fountain, and they are necessary to keep the balance between the darkeners and lighteners afloat. Despite this, our goal in the game is /still/ to destroy them, as ralsei acts as an unreliable narrator

all darkworlds still function the same as in canon; only those from their own darkworld can stay (lancer/rouxls would still turn to stone in the cyber world, cyber world darkeners would turn to stone in the card kingdom, etc). the castle town is the only known darkworld that can hold any darkener from any world.

The main difference made to each individual dark world that we know of (ei card kingdom and cyber city) are mainly aesthetic changes, likely just color palette swaps cuz im lazy and havent thought that ahead

OK ONTO CHARACTERSSS

maybe you have already started to get the sense that I haven't really thought this through to its entirety. AND U WOULD BE RIGHT! the only really thought out characters are the fun gang... sorry guys :P so this post will mainly talk about the main 3

RALSEI:

so far the most different from his canon counterpart, epsilon!ralsei is suspicious from the start. Hes very clearly an unreliable narrator and has been attempting to destory the fountain in card kingdom for a while before susie and kris fell down (why? Dont know yet, something to do with the knight but im not too confident in the reasoning yet considering how little info we have so far on it). The card kingdom didnt see him as a threat, just some cranky weirdo from the beyond the golden door. i think the best character to compare him with personality and goal wise is zim: very overly confident but silly and not always the brightest. Despite his silliness, he has alot of knowledge on the darkworlds, like canon ralsei, and proves to be a good "ally" for kris and susie on their adventure. in fights, he still does healing, but can also do magic dmg for TP (its alot weaker than either kris or susie's dmg, but its there, but it wouldnt really be used even on runs where you actually fight)

KRIS:

unlike what we see in the canon game, kris is actually the golden child of the family (the sides of the room are swapped, poor asriel :( ). Before the player took over, they were actually pretty extroverted and talkative around town! people will note they are a lot less talkative during conversations, and seem to have a lot less to add (obviously because of player interference). They were really charismatic and helpful around town, not as much of a prankster as canon kris lol

they are still a moss eater. This has not changed.

Also i like to think instead of a sword they have a bow and arrow bc i think it would be cool

SUSIE:

Ok so She is still. How do i say this.... The same vein of dumb as canon susie.. Like she is /not/ dumb. But she would still also Eat moss

She's a jock and will likely be offered sports scholarships for college. What she lacks grade wise she makes up for with being the schools resident golden-retriever type. She is not the Brightest, but shes still very thoughtful and acts very similar to how canon susie acts starting chapter 2, but like. the entire time. A lot less cold, but also alot less observational (the main thing im thinking of here is how she points out when something seems off or wrong in canon... In this au, i dont think she would pick up on that stuff, and kind of just goes along with whatever seems more fun at the moment)
