Peperomia maijeri. Trying to get a shot that emphasizes the fact that this Peperomia has "windowed leaves" that are made up of layers of translucent cells which allow light to penetrate into the interior of the leaf where the actual photosynthetic machinery is housed. It had been assumed that this increased the photosynthetic potential of the leaves but recent studies suggest it may play more of a role in regulating the temperature of the more delicate photsynthesis producing cells in the interior of the leaf.
