@eoleolhan // plotted.
the batarang he’d quickly thrown to disarm his assailant - which, in all fairness, is a stretch, considering it’s the bat who sought him out, not vice-versa - stops mid-air. doesn’t move. it ticks as the timer for its explosion counts down the seconds until detonation. the bat’s head cocks, all movement halted. can taste the sweat that feels like it pours into his mouth from halting like this, heart racing as his chest heaves to catch his breath and wishes he hadn’t at all.
dutifully, it explodes mid-air, without a target.
that’s... certainly new.
‘ impressive party trick, ’ he says flatly, hands balling into fists as he readies himself for whatever forthcoming hellfire he’s inviting, but too old and stubborn to back down. has never learned to back down, anyway, at any point in his life, but especially not when the fight seems to be getting even. the smile that twitches at his mouth like a tic he can’t fight off speaks for him. ‘ enough games. ’
