enver has been coughing for the last five minutes and it is driving her insane.    disgruntled,   nia heaves a sharp intake of breath,   standing swiftly from her spot at the other end of the room to make her way angrily across to him.   she grasps at a jug of water,   pours him a cup of it,   and then passes it in his direction as she growls,   “ drink,   fool. ”   her mother might have been more maternal,   might have brushed nia’s hair back when she was sick as a child,   but that was why nia will always consider her weak.   her father had taught her that much.

𝐀𝐅𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐈𝐑 𝐋𝐀𝐒𝐓 𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍,    venus would be lying if she said she didn’t feel uneasy about enver’s presence.    she feels a little better for having a knife in her hand;   she’s under supervision by a member of blaiz’s man posse,   of course,   having wanted to practice knife throwing again.    she’s been working on the advice huron gave her to make her throws more powerful and she’s beginning to get it.   she can feel the difference.     however,   as she stands a short distance away from the very same target she’d practiced at with huron,   enver’s mere gaze on her unsettles her.    despite how she knows it’s probably best to just ignore him,    the tension she feels makes that difficult.    “ enjoy your little camping trip? ”    venus asks,   glancing to enver before she aims at the target and lets the knife sink in just off the center.   the action itself isn’t a threat but it could definitely be interpreted that way.
