Thinking of the writers on Tumblr that have left an impression on me the most.
There are several others, of course, but these are the blogs that highlight my Tumblr journey, I think.
thethoughtsofalunatic - This was, of course, my first ever Tumblr blog. It is where I first posted my writing, so I must include it.
aspirethis - You now know her as poeticallyundead. We both started posting our writing on here at about the same time. Lost touch with her a lot, but she helped me get started!
the-purple-rhinos (was that the name?), madraniafternoons, myvermadexistence, entrappedthoughts, robertsadivargas - These guys have all influenced my writing in varying degrees. I lump all of these lovely people together because this was a sort of group where I felt I found my place in the community. I try to keep up with all of them to some extent now, but it's hard, so I keep up with some more than others. TPR is no longer on Tumblr, madraniafternoons is now catatonixexhibitionist, myverymadexistence is as mysterious and fleeting as ever (she's deactivated, you know), entrappedthoughts still writes as warmly as ever, and oh, robert, what's there to say about him? Great friend. I still owe him an awesome post. Because he's awesome.
stevenforbesmartinez - Now called lovelikevulture, I remember reading his work so long ago and just really loving it. I think he'll be known outside of Tumblr one day. The first blog that posted prose that I almost always read.
And that's all of my "firsts" on here I think. NOT. one left.
Crap, which one does he primarily use now? I'll just pick one and he'll be happy with it.
rocketfoxes - he's had as many names as I've had. But I don't really know what all to say except that he continues to be my favorite writer on here and I don't think I've ever not liked something he has written. He WILL be famous. I just know it! He is the first writer on here that I can say has influenced my writing more than just "a little here and there".
So yeah, these are the people that are the "firsts" in some sort of respect to me on Tumblr or whatever. It's been fun keeping up with all of them. They've left some sort of impression on me, each of them.Â
And I continue my journey. My writing isn't all that fantastic but I'm growing and I still don't know if I want to pursue it more than just writing in journals and blogs. I want to be published I guess. On Tumblr, I have been able to try a lot of style. I have three blogs where I post writing, the least of which is on this one. Although this is my main blog and probably even my main writing blog, I also like posting other reblogs and stuff here so yeah. It's a lot of fun, writing is.
And there are others, of course. Some lesser and equal and greater than these guys. But these are the "firsts" and they left positive impressions.
