Holy-!!! I had a close call with a car earlier in the spring and I remembered how it was surprisingly more scary After the fact when my brain caught up with it, I hope your recovery goes well for both your body and your mind!!

Hhhhhhhhh I wish the car had me missed me. I was literally back from holidays on the first day of my job, and this car accident had to happen. I have absolutely no recollection from the initial impact. I don’t remember seeing the car coming. I was crossing the road at the zebra crossing, because a car stopped to let me cross and I remember reaching the little island in the middle, separating the two roads. Did I pause? Did I keep walking? I know I was looking in the direction of the oncoming traffic, I remember that. But why is the car absent from my memory? The next moment I remember was being on the ground, gasping for breath, completely confused and disoriented.

I’ve mostly recovered since then, but I’m still sleeping a lot. My hematoma on my forehead is stubbornly refusing to leave, so I might need to get that looked at. But beyond that, all other traces of the accident are gone. I’ve been extremely lucky that everything was surface-level, I think I’ll just get away with a forehead scar. Sadly it seems that I will be dealing with a lot of anxiety with roads and cars... the few times I’ve ventured outside, I’m hyper-aware of all cars and all the crossings I have to cross.

Thank you! I’m extremely glad for that as well, most scrapes have healed up now. I just have that hematoma on my forehead that needs to go...

I'm really glad to hear you'reo kay! Please take it easy and go easy on yourself, that sounds a horrible situation to have to go through

Thank you Kath! It is a horrible experience, and one I would have liked not to have! But what’s done is done, and all I can do is focus on recovery and moving on. I’ve been sleeping a lot these past 2 weeks, more than I thought I could! I’m starting to be able to stay up longer now, so I’m glad for that. I just still need to deal with that mental fatigue!

It absolutely does!! Would have preferred to be spared of that experience, I don’t find it very worthwhile. Welp, at least I’m sleeping more. Honestly though, I’m just extremely grateful that I’m not left with any permanent damage or broken bones. At most, I’m getting a forehead scar out of this. Thank you so much!
