Time to write out useless information on how my mind works when creating characters and playing through the Pokemon games. These are so far the three characters made for each Pokemon game I played these last years. Alpha Sapphire, Moon, and Recently X. And the following is some the basics of their character/ how the way I played the games influenced those traits. (Also they are all cousin-related.)
Tootsbuettes - Alpha Sapphire:
For a long time I stopped playing Pokemon games, and this wasn’t the first one I returned to but I started playing this one pretty much just because I knew I could get Chikarito (Or Torchic...whatever....) as my starter. Throughout playing this game along with my friend Lindsay, we pretty much turned Tootsbuettes into a trainer that knows how awesome they are and knows how pathetic most other NPCs are. Like her Dad.... or Wally.... Or fuckin Brendan...
We also realized that this game really does put her in the seat of “hero of the whole world” with minor praise despite having caught a multitude of Legendaries available to catch within the core story alone.
Tootsbuettes is basically the bad ass yet under appreciated champion. With the most beautiful Borf in the world, and a harem-driven Chikarito. (Which is also based on a majority of my party being female.
Elemu - Moon
Pokemon Moon is a game I have yet to complete or get far in just yet. But Elemu’s character was pretty much born from that fact.
Since this game was played in far between recording segments, I spent a majority of my time just messing around with the Plaza feature, and using an army of Meowths to steadily increase my wealth by a ton. This is also the game where I decided to use Premiere balls for every Pokemon I can. Pokemon Bank had gotten its update to be used in Sun and Moon. So I also used time between recordings to transfer different pokemon into the game. The Plaza playing, money building, and Pokemon transferring is what set her character in stone.
Elemu is the carefree child. Spending most of her time playing her very own Plaza. Her father sends her all the money and Pokemon she could ever need. So in a sense shes a spoiled rich kid , but innocent because she’s unaware of just how good she has it compared to others.
Culsein - X
Now I get to the game I played on my own. This game was played primarily to help fill the National Dex within Alpha Sapphire. Also to fill my PC with as many Premiere Ball Pokemon as possible. Gameplay wise I beat it, reset, beat it again, reset. All to capture the 3 legendary birds/ trade the legendaries for others. Pretty simple and straight foward...
But this simple reason gives her probably the saddest story if treated like a character. Culsein started her adventure with a Chespin, went through the gyms, the league, saving the world and made friends. And (compared to Tootsbuettes) probably had the most rewarding fanfare for becoming the champion. But after feeling contempt with her adventure, she woke up to her choosing a starter again.
She becomes forced to relive her journey for unknown reasons, eventually picking different partners and trying new things to see if that fixes anything. But in the end she always end up back at square one, with no one remembering her journey, and constantly loosing old Pokemon friends. She becomes so detached that she stops naming her Pokemon at all. (And I wouldn’t if I’m just transferring them.)
This all changes though when she meets a strange blue ditto. At first she takes it along as another new adventure. But the next time she is sent back, she finds the same ditto following her. For the first time, someone does remember her and what she has been through. She keeps the ditto now named Memory by her side and finds it again in the same place every time she goes back. She is still stuck in a loop for now. But shes no longer alone. ;_;
Brain, just let me play in peeeace!!
