It was a blissful free period. Severus was sat in what he thought was a quiet secluded spot, free of distractions and prying eyes. The courtyard was rarely empty, and he relished in the fact that there was actually an empty spot on one of the grand stone window frames. It was the perfect opportunity for him to write notes in his precious potions ‘bible’. He scribbled his notes, barely legible to any other witch or wizard, he hoped. He sat with one hand holding his scruffy book, and the other holding his wand, miming the movement of a spell he was creating.
For the most part, he loved being alone, it was uncomplicated, easy. There were times though, when he yearned for the ordinary friendships of his peers, he wished he could laugh with them. He let out an exasperated sigh, ‘far too introspective Severus’ he thought to himself. Placing his book down beside him, he looked out at the view, it was then that the silence was broken by footsteps coming in his direction. Her pink hair made her obvious from afar. “Oh..” He fumbled for his book and hid it in his robes. “Scarlet.. hello..”
