puzzled curiosity morphs into horror as he learns how the scaring came to be. eyes dart to quin as if he’s looking ( hoping ) for a sign the other was joking.          “ wait what? ” he breathes. it’s honestly so ALIEN. his parents adored him , since he was a little boy , he is their treasure. he can’t understand. but quin is looking at him without a trace of fabrication. “ jesus.” he mumbles , eyes falling back to quinton’s arm , his thumb rolls gently over the scaring. he swallows as he looks at the marred skin again. 

based on:  "I put an ad out for a roommate because I couldn’t afford rent, and you seemed so nice at first but you’re honestly not?? But I still want to fuck you is that weird?"

money had been tight for catalina. she quickly learned that working as a waitress doesn’t get you very far, but money was money ( no matter how little it actually was ). paying her rent was one of the hardest things to come by, especially because she had a cat and had to pay a pet fee also. the female saw no other option but to post a roommate ad on craigslist. after all, her job was to be fake nice to strangers all day--- she figured she could handle another person living with her. plus, she didn’t have to spend her whole paycheck on rent every month. 

when connor did wander off late at night , it wasn’t anywhere you’d expect. it was always some .. DARKNESS he sought. and the place is pretty , well at least .. dive-y. connor , dressed & groomed neat as a pin looked wholly out of place. & he was , this friendless boy who lives with his parents was wholly out of place here. but he at least didn’t look scared or intimidated ,  his expression was quiet curiosity. and almost hidden , is the touch of fear , but that’s what gives him this ..  restrained adrenaline. a thrill !  the young man looked around , like he was waiting for someone & he thinks he is , he can .. he can FEEL it , somehow. eyes catching on another guy’s profile , sat nearby. despite warm brown hues , connor’s gaze looked almost scientific and he didn’t quiet realize he was outright staring until he was CAUGHT. 

SHE HATES IT HERE , SHE HATES IT. she’ll burn this place down yet. she’s sat in her pajamas , arms curled around her knees which are drawn to her chest. holding herself in , creating her own private place. from that horrid outside world ... a familiar scent. fresh baking. someone is making something , something like what constance used to make for her and jonas. she lifts her head and after a moment she leaves her spot and heads towards that scent. there she finds the girl baking. lavender ... lavender was sweet and gentle and merricat thinks she might tell lavender to escape before she sets this place alight. 

                    “ what are you making? ” merricat asks.

QUIN IS SHOVING HIM AWAY ; like always. & connor is really tired of it , even more tired of the assumptions he doesn’t know what he’s doing here. even if he hadn’t right to be , even if he really was naive and sheltered just as quin knows. because he is all those things but quin doesn’t know just what connor’s capable of _____ 

          he also doesn’t know what connor saw in his SCRYING MIRROR. 

        “ i’m NOT as weak as you think i am. ” he blurts angrily ,feet turning into anchors , muscles solidifying under quin’s touch , determined not to be pushed away.

IT’S SINCERE LACK OF UNDERSTANDING that prompts his answer. because connor’s grown entirely within walls of abnormality. he’s strange , he has never not been strange. “ __ but , you’ve always been YOU , you’ve always been A WITCH. ”
