Pidge and Hunk clap before each raising nine fingers, Pidge’s orange with cheese puff dust, nodding seriously as if Lance is under any actual scrutiny that matters.

"Please don't encourage him," Shiro groans from his spot on the couch. He'd gotten tired of the "tricks" ages ago and had ended up laid out on his back, one arm hanging off the side of the couch and the other slung across his face. He doesn't see Lance sticking his tongue out at him.

"You guys are just mad that you can't do cool shit like this." It's at this moment that Shiro realizes he's about to lose Keith to the vape. Lance proceeds blow another ring, cheeks hollowing in rapid bursts as he shoots small puffs of smoke through the fading circle.

He gets a “wrow” from Hunk.

Lance blows the tip of a finger gun. "That's why they call me the sharpshooter."

"No one calls you that."

Lance chooses to ignore Pidge and steadies his gaze, eyes full of challenge and eyebrow cocked, back on Keith who's watching him with a pout he'd never admit to wearing and crossed arms.

"I could do it if I wanted to."

"Could not."

"Could too."

Lance snorts. "Do it then," he says casually as he offers the pen to him.

Shiro, deciding Keith's failure might be worth seeing, sits up slowly and stretches feigning casual interest.

Keith eyes the vape clearly unsure exactly how it works as he turns it over and over in his hands. Lance snatches it away exasperated and grabs Keith's chin. He runs the pad of his thumb over Keith's bottom lip, pulling on it with a quiet command to "open up."

Keith complies, eyes never leaving Lance's as the cool metal parts his lips and settles on his tongue.

"No teeth," Lance teases. Keith pulls his lip up in a mock snarl revealing a canine.

A cheese puff hits the back of Lance’s head. "Quit making this weird."

"Now, suck."

Indignant groans are drowned out by Keith's immediate and violent coughing fit. His eyes are watering, clouds of smoke rising into the air with every hack, and Lance laughs while affectionately rubbing his back as he wheezes, lungs gasping for air.

"Been a while, huh babe?"

Keith ignores the jab and focuses on keeping his lungs out of his throat. "What the fuck is that?"

"Uh, it's piña colada, duh."

"More like penis alotta, am I right?" Hunk and Pidge high five on the other side of the coffee table.

"It tastes like shit," Keith manages to croak out.

"It does not! You just can't hang." Lance grabs the pen back. "Probably for the best. Your cool factor would be through the roof then."

Pidge rolls her eyes. "Vaping is for douchebags."

"She's right."

"Shiro, you and Keith are naturally cool. I'm cool but like, sometimes I need to...enhance it. As someone everyone finds hot and mysterious, you wouldn't understand."

"Quit blowing smoke up my ass."

Keith glares at Shiro who only shrugs and mouths "too easy" at him.

Lance's face lights up. "That's the spirit. Now watch this!" He takes a drag and leans forward, exhaling a pool of smoke onto the table's surface. Whatever trick he'd planned on doing is instantly ruined when Shiro blows hard, dispersing the smoke in a second. The reaction is immediate and Lance looks both betrayed and highly offended.

"SHIRO."
