"S-sorry," she murmured. "I must have thought I'd finally woken from this nightmare." It wouldn't have been the first time she'd thought that entire year had been a nightmare. That Charles, Scott, and Jean were still alive. But they weren't.
He patted her hand and kissed the back of it. " There is no need to apologize, my dear. I of all people understand the power a dream can hold." He rolled back then and started toward the kitchen. " Would you care to join me for a cuppa?"
