Third post, with my attempts at decoding

Things That I Don’t Appreciate About This Post as a Neurodivergent, and as a Person In General:

-establishes who you are a little, okay fair enough seems like a legit discussion beginning

The tone. It basically sounds exactly what bonkers SJWs sound like; only taking the gauntlet and running the other direction with it. SEE WHAT ALLISTIC PEOPLE DO??? SEE WHAT NEUROTIPICAL PEOPLE DON’T DO?? THEY DON’T ACTUALLY CARE ABOUT [X THING]!!

-‘bonkers’, like ‘insane’ and ‘crazy’ is often used to dismiss mentally ill and neurodivergent people— and also NT people by comparing it to them. It devalues thoughts, ideas, actions, and entire people based on their brains.

-op was commenting on an observation made about allistic people telling autistic people they can’t headcanon representation of themselves

When you can flip “autistic people can’t have autistic headcanons, that’s just something you can’t do, but mental illnesses are a badge, so we don’t have anything to say” with “look what these allistic people do all the time, ugh, and neurotypical people are complete hypocrites”, that’s a narrative you really don’t want to go with. Is it true that that’s what these people sound like? That they sound (and often are) completely vapid? Yeah, it does, but it’s the exact same tone they use. Is it a good reason to get upset? Damn straight it is.

-those two quotations are??? the first is what NT people were observed to do, and the second is again your interpretation of said observation— and it also sounds like you have more of a problem to the reply than OP?

But what you’re actually sounding like when you adopt that same tone is, “Allistic and neurotypical people are bad and should feel bad for everything people like that do and say”. Hm. I wonder what that reminds me of.

"[x thing] that [y group] does just really upsets me for [z reasons]" separates people within the same broad group from a minority that exists largely only on tumblr (who adopt the YOU CAN’T HAVE THIS THING IN FANDOM), rather than telling everyone they’re awful.

Answering toxic hostility with toxic hostility is not how you win these kinds of arguments, and doesn’t make your well-meaning intent in calling people like this out sound any better. Making every allistic/neurotypical person feel like they’re the real problem does not actually solve the problem— making sure to counter balance the people who do honestly say and believe that they can control what autistic/neurodivergent can and can’t have does.

-if the NT/allistic people aren’t ableist fuckbags, they will find, as I have, this a lighthearted mockery of the ones who are ableist fuckbags, and know what not to do.

So I encourage anyone who sees this on their dashboard to think more carefully about the tone they want to set on their personal views, and how approachable and rational toxic agreement really makes you look before reblogging it.

Yes, it’s your own space. Reblog whatever you so choose. But do you really want to sound just like the SJWs you decry to people who might not know better that follow you? Do you really want that as part of your reputation to people that do? Hopefully not. What you put forward for people to see is very important to how people will approach you. As well as the type of followers you attract that may or may not use your agreement as justification for bad behavior.
