Anderson .Paak is back with a new album “Ventura”! 🙌🏾 My first listen, I was up grooving to this soulful release as I prepared to head out for the day. The second release from Paak since signing with Aftermath, this is what I was expecting to hear, more of that smooth, and groovy riding music. My favorite tracks on the album has to be the Pharrell Williams produced “Twilight”, this is that funk, that nasty, make you get up and dance like you in your momma’s basement party, just make sure @spiceadams Adams not dancing all over your momma’s sisters. 🤣 Besides the lead singles “Make It Better”, and King James”, I’m feeling “Reachin’ 2 Much featuring Lalah Hathaway, this has to be my summer grilling jam. I also love “Jet Black” featuring Brandy and the sultry “Good Heels” with Jasmine Sullivan. @mozzy and @berner415 dropped a dope collabo, one of my favorite albums in 2019. This has some slapperz on it, you need to check out “Froze Up”, featuring SOB RBE, also check out “Noddin”, “Suicide”, and “Touch Down”, featuring the Cypress Hill legend B-Real on some laid back vibes. Another one of my favorite tracks is “Ayy” featuring YG, and Logic, the infectious hook from YG, Make em Say Uh/Make em say Ayy”, a mini tribute to Master P’s “Make em Say Uhh”, and Logic comes through as the clean up spitting some bars that make this track have a good replay value! This album is full of Bay Area vibes filled full of smoke laced tracks for you to calm your nerves. Have you heard @ws_boogie new album “Everythings For Sale”? The Compton emcee is here with his debut on Shady Records,with expectations high for Boogie to be the next to blow, he wrestles with this on the opening song “Tired/Reflections, ‘They like "Nigga, we tired of hearin' you poor" Out your heart about how you in the struggle and how you at war With yourself and how you not confident and you insecure Niggas tired of that shit, don't wanna hear that story no more, I'm tired’”. Boogie stays true to his narrative with his introspections and offers us a look into his struggles with his relationship with his girl, and his child on “Whose Fault” featuring Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah. This song deals with his infidelity and consequences from the fallout fearing the things he hoped he wouldn’t become.
