Red! As in RWBY!! I've been rolling this idea for a long while. My main AU is meant to end with vol 8, the character arcs I have planned resolve doesn't really extend into Vacuo. BUT ToySoldiers!au is also an analysis on Atlesian culture and the BEST way to show case that is with them in Vacuo.

So this fanfic daydream (named Encore) is a spinoff of my main project and is canon divergent. The Premise is:

What if Atlas survived and they floated that thing to Vacuo?

ps. I'm also a big fan of survival games and management sims lol.

My main reason for this is to keep all the characters together, but in a way that would drive them insane and stress them out.

We have the HH running the place, handling politics and trying not to throw Harriet off Atlas.

and my Menagerie Tribe and indigenous leaning worldbuilding that probably no one cares about lol

But the first act would be getting the city moving. I was very careful when I made my main OC, Penny's teammates, Aurora Glade and Ashley Xanthic. I specifically made them tech savvy civilians rather than combative Hunters to compliment and support Penny.

For the most part this would follow vol 8 till the ending bits. Aro and Xan are able to undo Watt's virus being the protégée of Dr. Polendina and Watts respectively. The lamp and staff still end up getting used in some way or another and end up in Salem's hands. Winter still becomes a Maiden, probably some temporary death with the staff tricking the powers or idk.

Second act would be surviving the trip. Not enough food, water, and more importantly Dust. All the negativity keeps attracting Grimm so all our Hunters are working over time. Every so often Atlas needs float over the ocean so people can mine Dust from the sea (my indigenous worldbuilding part).

Third and final act would be Atlas finally arriving at Vacuo. And Vacuo, who's land was fucked up by the Atlesians going "Oh wow. Look at these Atlesian asshole and their flying city. Think they're so good and shit. Fuck you!" and big fights and politics all stuffs.
